I cried, I swooned, I left excited and pumped for the next!
I was scared bc of the fact this book was a Romeo and Juliet retelling vibe-y book and we all KNOW how that story ends. 🥲 so if you’re on the fence and unsure about this book, trust me when I say - TAKE THE PLUNGE!! This book was ✨ amazing ✨TROPES 🪶✔️ good girl falls for the bad guy✔️ world building that’s easy to follow and captivating!✔️ forbidden love/star crossed lovers 😏😭✔️ angels with magic ✨✔️ mafia vibes✔️ swoon-worthy romance with spice✔️ Romeo & Juliet retelling but make them angels 😎Ugh. My heart. My soul. This book absolutely entranced me and I was completely blown away by the creative mind Olivia has. Her angels all have different tiers, different jobs and powers. At the near bottom are the Fledglings, the angels who must earn every feather if they want to ascend to Elysium. If they don’t in time, they lose their wing bones and become Nephilim which are disgraced, fallen angels who are mortals. 😭 They earn their feathers by helping sinners do good things and they can even lose feathers (painfully!) by doing bad things like lying, feeling envious, etc.So enters our baby girl, Leigh. Wildly orange hair, but a soft strength to her - she’s never lost a feather. She’s a good egg. A Seraphim, the head honchos in Elysium aka the archangels, rule over the lower tiers. Asher, one of the 7 I believe archangels, comes down to let the Fledglings know he’s looking to wire up and has his eyes on Leigh who is also a Verity (pure blooded) Angel. But she’s gotta get 80+ more feathers before the time is up to ascend and be considered. So how DOES one gain that many feathers in so short a time? Simple! Taking on a sinner and changing them to save their soul. But not just any sinner, no. They need a truly BAD one. We’re talking a Triple. The baddest of the bad - and this is no easy task. So Leigh’s shady 👀 friend sets her up with one that spooks all the other angels - a mafia boss, Jarod Alder.Jarod is jaded, slightly paranoid, bitter and takes no shit from anybody. But Leigh fascinates him. So she swoops in like a little missionary to try and get him to change his ways.Spoiler territory the rest of the way so I’ll keep it vague and just spew my thoughts! You know this is a Romeo and Juliet retelling. But what you don’t know is the ending. Trust me when I say if you’ve been wanting to read this, but you haven’t, take this as your sign to pick up Olivia’s first book in this series and take that leap of faith (lol I’m sorry) and I promise you, you will love this book. It’s unique, it’s immersive, it’s romantic, it’s heart breaking, but you leave with hope and excitement for the next book. And good news!! This series IS complete!! So that means we can binge it all. 😌 so please, go pick this up. Read it. Thank me later.

Feather...
Oh boy! I knew going into this book I might regret it and while I don't regret it, I wish I would have taken more consideration into the fact that this was indeed a Romeo and Juliet retelling. Yeah, we know how that story goes.Parts of this book I really loved, and parts of this book I really loathed. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I am such a stickler for retellings. I don't want them to be the same as the original and I kind of had this brief bit of hope that this story wouldn't go like I thought it would. And while a good bit didn't that one bit did.Another thing that kind of got my knickers in a knot was the fact that Hero was not that bad of a guy. Sure, he had his flaws and could have made some better life choices but deep down he was not a bad guy. Not even morally gray, just kind of misunderstood in the way that so many of us are.And our Heroine, I loved her besides at times she was a bit soft. I kind of thought she would be this incredible strong woman, but she was kind of... emotional maybe? I am not sure, but I really did love her character arc.As I mentioned so much of this book, I loved but I guess I just had my own hopes on what it would be and that is entirely my fault. If you enjoy Romeo and Juliet and want to see an entirely new take on it, I suggest reading this book. I am kind of on the fence about continuing this series even after that ending...

I remember why I hated Romeo and Julietl
This had a lot of potential. The first 200 or so pages I was hooked and in love with the world of angels and all of the cool concepts that came with being able to reach Elysium. But like Romeo and Juliet, a love that came about within a few weeks and soiled lives for an infatuation was this book’s downfall. I couldn’t get on board with the insta love and “sacrifices” these characters were willing to give for puppy love. Loved the supporting characters. Big fan of Muriel and Celeste and even Asher. Went from devouring this book to trudging through it at the end. Bummer.

New Spin on Angels
This book…I started off thinking it’s just like all the rest of the dark romance, enemies to lovers stories. But it was so much more. Steamy moments, relationships built, tears shed, and every single emotion in between. I highly recommend this book it was superbly written!

Wow. Love this angel story.
This book is not what it seems and at the same time exactly what I needed it to be. Angels and Nephillim and the worlds they inhabit. Told from a single point of view, I would have appreciated a male perspective before the final chapter. Slow burn like no other, but here me when I say that the first kiss is hands down the hottest thing I have read in a while. Great story weaving, fantastic world building. The ending broke me. I need to keep going to the next one right now.Great book.

Fantasy
I’m not really a fantasy reader but this my 2nd time reading a book like this, and from the moment I started reading it I was captivated. Its more like a Romeo and Juliet story but as the plot thickens it captivates a good story telling, you laugh and cry and smile. Feather and Jarod are my romance couples. Now I’ll have to get the physical copy.

If you like PNR with angels and a loosely Romeo & Juliet retelling, then this is for you!
Even if you don't like Romeo & Juliet, I would still recommend it as it has so many other aspects that make this story a great reading experience!I’m not okay...I need a hug and a calming tea because I think I've never cried so much after reading a book! This book was incredible but heartbreaking 💔The main characters are:Leigh, an Angel who collects feathers to complete her wings by bringing people to be better humans (without them knowing that angels exist), and Jarod, a Human & a dark mafia boss who has the highest point in the Angels' sinners systemBoth characters were so interesting to read about, and I loved how much they grew throughout the story. Jarod calling Leigh "Feather" was one of my favorite parts...Oh, and the “smoldering” (you have to read it to understand it!)The Angel system was so unique and fascinating to read about.Okay, so I enjoyed myself for the first 85%, but I was just a sobbing mess for the rest of the book 😭 (this is Romeo & Juliet - what did I expect?)Celeste was one of my favorite side characters (she has purple feathers, so maybe I'm biased 💜). I can't wait to read her book! And I need closure.Advice: Don't skip the Acknowledgments in this one! It was reassuring, especially if you are as sensitive as me and need your HEA🗂Genre: Paranormal Tragedy🏷Tropes:- Romeo x Juliet retelling- Star-crossed Lovers- Forbidden: Angel x Human- Soulmates- PNR- Mafia- Found Family- Spice+ another trope that I ADORE but can't say because it's a spoiler📖Format: 1st Person, dual POV

Between light and darkness there's love
A new forbidden love story between an angel and a human, the perfect mix between paranormal and mafia romance.I won’t lie. When I started my reading I was pretty confused since I couldn’t manage to understand the world building. But from 10% on the story takes flight and every piece of the puzzle finds its place.Feather is a surprisingly sweet story, full of passion, pain and altruism. In this book I found an unexpected depth when describing love and everything about good and evil (and the grey areas between them). Both the protagonists make difficult choices to ensure the other’s freedom. And freedom doesn’t mean they need to stay together.I loved Leigh so much, because she communicates moral values that I also share, she’s kind, empathetic, selfless, resilient but insecure, she’s so sensitive and hers is an all-encompassing love. But Jarod was the true surprise. Although he's a mob boss in Paris, he’s not despicable or unpleasant or violent, but tender, protective, caring. The best part of the story is how they gradually develop their feelings for each other and how they manage to understand their true desires, even if this leads to question their own past: one of abandonment and violence, the other righteous and angelic. It’s amazing when you read about the clash between Leigh’s innate goodness and Jarod’s cruel world. The setting is magnificent (Paris with its historical buildings and monuments), fascinating the other characters, every chapter full of dynamic adrenaline.Watch out: even if Feather could be classified as a romance and a passionate story, it contains a lot of painful moments and difficult choices that are unusual for the genre. It is a wonderful book (and if you’re really sensitive, you’ll need tissues).Hoping this amazing series will land in Italy soon, I’m starting the second book!

The Best!
I have no words to explain how deeply I felt for this book. It's still raw. Totally different story, unique to be exact. There was so much pain, emotions, love, adoration. I really really loved it a lot and I can't wait for next books.
