Warm, roomy, and versatile.
My work requires me to mostly be outside. This jacket meets all of my expectations. The outer shell is perfect for fall. It's not too hot, has plenty of storage/pockets, and the material breaks wind while resisting precipitation. It is currently -7 F, and the jacket is keeping me warm and comfortable. The collar of the jacket covers all of my neck when it's zipped completely up. The collar height is one of my favorite features of this jacket. It really does protect from the cold, but is easily unzipped and folded out of the way when inside. There are soooo many pockets. Two breast pockets deep enough to conceal carry and are secured closed using heavy duty velcro. Two outer breast pockets that include velcro flaps for badge/patch adherence. Secured using a zipper. The zipper is protected from water with a flap. Two waist pockets for hands. Secured using a zipper. Two pockets on each forearm. Secured using zippers. Perfect for pens. It's a pricey jacket, but it's versatile. Instead of buying multiple jackets for different temps, this jacket offers protection for all in one package. My only issue was one of the waist pockets. All zippers on this jacket are protected by a rain flap. I've run the zipper over one of the rain flaps a few times, jamming the zipper. Usually I would have to take the jacket off so I can get two hands on the jam to correct it. Unfortunately, I had my keys in the jammed pocket while it was pouring out, so I had to muscle it open, resulting in the zipper handle falling off and warping a few teeth. If this jacket used the larger, one handed zippers that you see on most tac boots, the jacket would be perfect. This hasn't change how the jacket protects me, but I have to be mindful of what I keep in that pocket.

New day to day jacket
Arrived in a simple adhesive sealed plastic bag, was a bit larger then I was expecting from pictures, but I understood once I opened the thing.I’ll start off with I am 5’10” and a fairly hefty 250lb and picked up the large size. The liner: the liner itself is nice, a fleece-y outside with a polyester-feeling inside liner, that seems pretty wind resistant under normal wind conditions(I haven’t worn it out in a storm or the like yet.). There is an inside pocket on the left chest, two Velcro document pockets on the outer upper chest, and two ‘normal’ zippered pockets/hand warmer pockets. The latter having a similar but somewhat different fleecy lining to help keep hands warm. There is also a snap and zipper on both sides for ventilation or ease of access to your belt(meant for a holster and firearm). The sleeve ends have a “scrunchie” style elastic that keeps them close but doesn’t cling to my wrists as I turn my hands/wrists, and there is also a small loop here and at the back of the collar for snapping to the outer shell. Lastly, the sleeves have a covered zipper at the shoulders so they can be removed if needed. The Shell: This can be worn with or without the liner, it has the same polyester-feeling liner that the fleece has, and has a zippered pocket on the inside left breast. And a Velcro pocket on the inside right breast. These are not accessible however when the fleece is zipped in. Speaking of, the fleece liner connects to the jacket via zippers on the front, and three snap buttons on the shell and loops on the liner. They are on the back of the collar, and each sleeve. The jacket has the same button and zippered side access, though if you are wearing this for firearm access, your fleece liner should be unzipped underneath to ensure expedited access. Onto other pockets, there are two Zippered hand pockets, 2 Velcro breast document pockets, and 2 zippered pockets above the document pockets specifically for Velcro hidden ID patches. I’ve removed mine and plan to use them as just more pockets. Next, there are two forearm pockets, 1 per sleeve, for storing pocket knives or flashlights. Then there is a smaller maybe 6” ish zipper on the back right hand side with a long pocket across the small of the back. I use this pocket to store the “5.11 5-point breakaway reflective vest”, in “regular” size for my large jacket. It is actually somewhat nice for me at least as the extra padding makes it almost feel like a lumbar pillow when sitting in a car or office chair. Lastly, there is another large full-back pocket with a zipper at the top of the back for another zippered hidden ID panel pocket. The hood: the last thing to talk about really. The collar zipper gets covered by 3 snaps, but otherwise holds the hood on with a zipper, but overtop of the existing collar, so I am not afraid that water will leak in this. The hood itself has a soft visor of sorts, a Velcro strap on the back center of the hood to be able to lift that front into whatever position you like, 2 snaps to cover the mouth, and some shock cord adjustments to close the hood’s face.So far, it seems really nice and I’m sure that it should last and be worth the investment!

super well thought out coat
I L O V E this coat!I was worried buying a coat on line might turn out to be a bad idea. I'm 6 foot 4 and weigh over 250 pounds. This coupled with my monkey long arms generally makes trying on clothes a disappointment. Often a 2xl is based upon genetically modified pygmies when I try it on and the sleeves are Jethro Bodine esc, as the zipper fails to clear my rotund tummie. Not so with this fine though pricey garment. The sleeves are luxuriously long. The cut is roomy. The materials are first rate, And oh the pockets! I enjoy having more pockets than a Crohns cecum. This coat has pockets inside pockets. Awesome.Lets talk about warm and comfortable. This coat is almost too warm. No wind penetration whatsoever. Zippers have flaps which cover the front and the tops of pockets. The Velcro is well stitched, and most every zipper pull has a nylon tag to make zipping easy even with leather mittens on.I was somewhat anxious about the color, fearing it might be too light blue. To my happy surprise, it's almost black.Well thought out coat with features for days.I don't usually gush on in my reviews but feel this jacket deserves all the accolades I can muster.I purchased 2XL Tall. and fit is perfect.
