LDS propaganda
Deceptive.... I should have researched better before purchasing LDS propaganda. The story smacks of lies even before the halfway through “reveal” of Mormonism, not Orthodox Biblical Christianity. What is true is that this guy traded one religion of performance (Islam) for another. (Mormonism) it was the frying pan into the fire.True Christianity is God rescuing only those He chooses from their hopeless situation with unmerited kindness through Jesus shed blood. He lived the life through Jesus that we should have lived but were incapable. This Jesus, the preexistent simultaneous God/man , died the death we should have died in our place, and reconciled us to God the Father.Run away from this book. There is no truth nor answers to be found here. It’s clumsily written and concocted to boot.

His name is now Tito.
A very fascinating story of a man who was raised in a very orthodox from of Islam in a small village in the northern part of Nigeria. I was introduced to a family life that made me glad to be raised in a different culture. Families did not eat together, men we forbidden from entering the kitchen. A woman was not supposed to leave her home, or uncover head at any time even in the home. Muhammad was supposed to become a leading Cleric in his country. When he goes away to school in Damascus his world changes, he sees Muslims who are not as orthodox in their faith as he was raised. His experience at the school changes his life. he and a few friends accidently eat a bit of Food during fasting period of Ramadan. They are called infidels, his friends are beaten and when the head master comes to beat him, Muhammad strikes the man first and knocks him to the floor. He eventfully transfers to a university in Cairo to continue his clerical studies. He loses his interest in Clerical studies and makes some moral mistakes and starts drinking and becomes a DJ at a night club. After many months he visits a friend who he discovers no longer drinks or smokes. He asks why. His friend introduces him the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Mormon Church. His life changes when he converts to Christianity and is sent to prison for being a Christian. The charges used against him is that he was smuggling drugs. He discovers this charge is often used to send Christians to prison. Would we convert to Christianity if we knew our life could end at any moment when a family member could kill you as part of an honor killing. He spends 15 years in prison for converting to Christianity. A great story and one shows us a man who discovers Christ and learns what forgiveness means. This is a very good book it helped me appreciate living in a country were people are not sent to prison for following their heart.

From Muslim to Christian, incredible story
This is so informative as to what being raised by an extreme Islamic community does to a child. It is certainly nothing but abusive. That this man could submit willingly for so many years to his fanatic father, and his culture, is amazing. But fortunately, the indomitable human spirit given by God, begins to come forth as he matures, and he learns the truth of many things. Some things in his Islamic faith were good, but most, that tried to force people to be good (sound like the Satan's plan in the pre-earth life?) he sees as evil. Not all that the "West" has to offer is bad. Unfortunately, Tito falls into the pitfalls of addiction and immorality for a while, until a good friend shows him a better way. That friend happens to have turned from Islam to Mormonism and Christianity. By this friend's example, and his reading of the Bible, Book of Mormon and other Christian scriptures, Tito gets a testimony. And such a strong one that he is able to endure 15 years of prison life in Egypt, suffering torture, ill health, and persecution. What a reader will love about learning of his experiences are the spiritual, faith-promoting times he has that help him endure. Due to good Christians across the world, he is buoyed up, and eventually released to a welcoming culture, where is finds peace and happiness. He was in Salt Lake City at Christmas some years after his release, experiencing Temple Square and the multi-cultural atmosphere with multiple languages being spoken there, and feels right at home. With the Christmas lights all aglow, when it begins to snow, something he has never seen before, he gets tingly goose bumps, which he attributes to the Spirit speaking again to him. This is a very inspiring book and well worth the read for the education one receives, and the spiritual experiences.

Fascinating book
I really enjoyed this book. I found it fascinating and it consumned my thoughts for the three days it took me to read it. It is deeply emotional reading and it opened my mind and heart as to how Christians are persecuted in other countries and especially, the extent to which Islam is forced upon some people and how they suffer because of that. I will be looking to read more on this topic.I did think that the cover description is somewhat misleading however. This is a heart breaking story of how a young Nigerian Muslim was falsly arrested, imprisoned and tortured because he asked questions that placed Islam in a bad light and eventually converted to become a Mormon. In my view a Mormon is not a Christian (because Mormons have added to scripture) so they should not really use the word Christian on the cover. If I had of known this was about the Mormon religion I would have not brought the book but I am glad that I did, it was a very interesting read.

Dangerous Choices
Thoroughly enjoyed the book as it helped me better understand the Moslem religion versus Christianity. Tito Momen demonstrates that regardless of your religious background, there are self destructive dangers in over indulging, in alcohol, smoking/drugs, and casual sex. The story also emphasizes if a religion is just a bunch of rules and regulations and not one which creates a personal relationship with God that it will leave the believer unfulfilled. The book also shows how people haved used religion for their own agendas, power, control, wealth and corruption. The author shows that through all of the troubles and problems one can encounter that when one looks to God, He can be found and He can create miracles with which to bless us.
