After they sold to Fitbit and my watch finally stopped working I switched to an Amazfit Bip. While it wasn't as perfect it was good enough. When I found Timex released a watch, the Ironman R300, that was Huami/Amazfit under the hood I figured it was worth a shot.**Features*** Always on display* 4 Physical buttons (Note: only one can be configured for long-press app launch)* Responsive touchscreen (Must click a button to activate, so no accidental input)* Touchscreen can be set to disable during workouts so sweat/water won't interfere with touchscreen* Alarms (3 programmable alarms)* Countdown timer, chronograph* Multitasking - you can back out of a timer/activity and use other apps (This is not true of the Bip/Back to my glory days of running down the battery because I forget to turn off the stop watch for days!)* 50M water resist* Automatic HR and Sleep tracking (optional)* Steps/Calories/Goal tracking* Playback control looks almost identical to pebble (as I remember it). Track advance/back, volume up/down, play/resume* Onboard GPS + sports tracking (Far superior to Pebble or Amazfit Bip making this a solid running/cycling watch)* Syncs with Strava and Runkeeper (I use Tapiirik to sync/backup since I don't usually use either of those. This is fine.)* App allows for pretty advanced workout/training configuration with some presets included - this really surprised me!* App notifications* Basic weather (current temp, future high/lows)* 1-2 wks battery - I get about a week. That's with notifications on, 30 min automatic HR and Sleep Tracking enabled, and 3 or so tracked workouts with GPS. I could see you easily getting 2+ weeks out of it if you favored battery life over features and were more conservative with your settings.* App sync is always fast, doesn't have the long aGPS sync like some watches I've seen**Cons** *Coming from a Pebble perspective** Notifications don't stay on screen very long and are not actionable. You can always find them in the notification area, but I know for some folks persistent notifications are a deal breaker.* Notifications are not actionable, they're read-only. Based on other Huami products, I do not expect this to change.* Limited watch face selection, and so far no third party community support. (I could see this changing if enough of us buy this watch, it's basically an Amazfit watch and the app is a re-branded upgrade of Mi-Fit.* No third party apps**Other thoughts**This is a great watch for me. I do like the design, and it has all the features that I was really looking for. Overall I'm very happy with it, I do hope more watch faces are forthcoming either first or third party.The biggest surprise to me is how great a *sports* watch it is. Coming from the Bip, I expected that to be an afterthought - especially for the price. In that way, I got more than I bargained for.The design of this thing is. . . distinct. If you like it you like it, if you don't you don't. I think the darker colors are less distinct, if you don't love the design go with black. For the price, the GPS watch accurately measures my walks, IF the GPS will update on any given day. The GPS will randomly refuse to update for a few days, then will, with no obvious reason either way. Customer service did not respond to my inquiry. The touchscreen & buttons will too easily accidentally deploy when in the shower or I’m actively using my left hand. Then, touch doesn’t want to respond at times when I need it to.A good watch for the price but not without its issues. UPDATE 8/11/2023 My watch has now unpaired itself from my phone, the phone app will not connect at all so, now the watch is useless. It’s just sitting in an unpaired mode. Previous experience tells me Timex will not respond to requests for assistance so now, even though the watch is not expensive, it isn’t even worth that amount. Second update: after updating, multiple restarts and unpairing & repairing, I’m up & running again for now.

This is a great watch for the money if your an active person. The app works very well and has allot of information on your activities.

I had the previous version of the Timex Ironman GPS watch. It took forever to get a GPS connection because it was not compatible with my old PC and I had to set it up manually. It didn’t hold a charge for more than a couple of days.This watch syncs with my Apple cell phone and connects with GPS in seconds! I am a walker but like to keep up with my mileage and pace. My neighborhood has a lot of tree cover and I believe the pace reading is slightly off when I am in a very shady area. I like the heart rate measurements but I only use the watch for my daily walking workout. The battery lasts a long time, so far, including the initial set up time. It might be a bit shorter if I wore the watch all day. The mobile app works well. The price was good. I really wanted a basic GPS watch and this probably has more features than I need, but I am pleased.

Having heart rate, exercise time and accurate distance on your wrist is what it does well. And those display fields can be changed. I am most satisfied with it as an exercise supplement. Even the stretchy silicone band is comfortable and helps maintain skin contact so important for the heart rate monitor. But as a daily timepiece it lacks. Having owned several Timex watches I was disappointed that it does not have: multiple time zones, and easy to read display without the backlight, a countdown timer with "repeat at end." It sort of has a countdown timer w/repeat but it is buried in one of the coaching menus. Nevertheless, I like it despite having to change watches depending on which mischief I am in.

I purchased this watch because there were several reviews, including in-depth reviews in running magazines, that stated the heart rate monitoring was accurate. That was not my experience. During the first 30-40 minutes of my runs, this Timex reported my BPM at 25-35 higher than my actual heart rate. After 45 minutes of running, the accuracy improved, but was still 5-10 beats higher than my actual heart rate.Disappointing, I returned the watch and will stick with a chest strap (EKG) heart rate monitor.

I've spent the last forty five minutes trying to get the watch to install updates from my phone, one of the first things you need to do to use the watch. I've gotten to at most 14% before the update fails. I'll be sending it back. The person who got me the watch as a gift feels awful.Update: Technical Service walked me through fixing the device. The screen is dated but the batterg is great.Update 2: the watch syncs with Google Fit, but the data is different. For e.g., a 1 mile walk on the watch shows up in Google Fit as a .14 walk in Google Fit. I might end up returning the watch.Update 3: I returned the watch because of the issue with syncing to Google Fit. I've been using Google Fit for years and the product should sync correctly, but doesn't, so I need to find something better.

Use this watch everyday to train. GPS function is great for outdoor cycling. Definitely get a lot of watch for the money . Works great and syncs perfectly with phone. Text messages are big enough and readable compared to my g shock move . Highly recommended

Do yourself a favor and don't buy this garbage. Received it, charged to 100%. Updated it. Down 7% in just 4 hours, I wasn't even wearing it!

Easy to setup. Battery life after first full charge was amazing. I did not like the fact that the face isn't scratch resistant.

I use this watch everyday! Great tool to have on a daily basis.
