I believe the carbon wires are better. I also think installing this yourself can be challenging. I found an Auto Trim Design company in my area and asked them to quote installation. They charged me $150 to install it. The pad works great and I love the fact that it covers the lumbar area as well as the bottom! What I learned is that in the 2017 Kia Sportage, there's a sensor for the airbag in the passenger seat that is close to the surface. The company that did my install warned me that they couldn't guarantee that the sensor would work properly if they installed the pad on passenger side. They said the current from the pad could interfere with the sensor. I elected "not" to install it on the passenger side. It might have been fine but I didn't want to risk it since you might not know there was a problem until it was too late. I find the temp settings on mine to be perfect; I can leave it on indefinitely on low and it feels good. On high it'll really get hot until it's too uncomfortable and I have to turn it to low but that's fantastic on the really cold mornings! Even paying for an install this was still much cheaper than OEM with the exception of the passenger side deal.

The seat heater is what I expected. It comes with two sets. There is a detailed manual with the package telling me how to install the heater step by step. After installation, the seat heater works very well and saves us for the cold winter, when everything is freezing cold in the car. It heats up the temperature very fast.

I installed this same kit a year ago. The kit I received did not include the thin cloth tape needed to tape the edges when I installed the seat portion of the heating pad. To properly install the seat cover you need to cut a hole between the heating elements to install the hot rings that hold the seat cover to the foam. The tape keeps the element from shorting out if the element touches metal. I realized this after I started and I used duct tape. It works, but the kit they sold a year ago was better.

I installed theses in my 2016 Tundra with cloth seats and they work great. Easy to install and wire up. The hardest thing is dismantling the seats. Watch some YouTube videos before you begin and you’ll be ahead of the game.

I used these in a set of seat covers that I installed. Very easy to install. Put pads in the inside if the seat cober, install switches somewhere, and wire to switched power and ground. Only complaint is they take about 5 minutes to warm up.

Work well. Only 4 stars because they could be warmer

I bought these for my 2011 Altima because I liked the heated seats in my friend's Lexus. I had them professionally installed under the seat padding and they work great.

I've bought this twice because they work so good. I only wish the chord from heater was about 2-3 inches longer.
