REN Clean Skincare Oat and Bay Conditioning Shampoo, Moisturizing, Sulfate-Free Shampoo for All Hair Types, 10.2 Fl Oz

When I saw this on Vine, I was immediately interested, because I prefer skin and hair products that are clean, and because I do color my hair, I need sulfate-free shampoos.This shampoo is gentle, and does not lather well, which is expected of most sulfate free shampoos. The only issue I had with it was that I had to lather up again a couple of time before my hair finally felt clean. I do use hair products, so that may be why the shampoo had a more challenging time cleaning my hair.My husband and children tried it, and it worked very well on their hair though. They do not use hair products, so this shampoo had an easier time cleaning their hair.Overall, this is a good shampoo. Just be advised that if you use leave in hair products, you may need to re-lather and rinse a couple of times.

I found this shampoo at a hotel in California's wine country. It seems to gently clean up previous shampoo residue. I'm not a chemist but I find no sulfates on the list of ingredients which may be a clue on how it works.

Leaves my hair oily and full of static

Not the biggest fan of this shampoo. It doesn’t hardly lather, or make me feel like my hair is properly washed. It’s very watery, I have to use like 6-7 pumps. The smell is a barely there “natural food” store type of scent, which I don’t like either. Normally I air dry my hair and it twirls into nice waves with lots of body. With this it just dropped like dead weight, no shine or softness. Too overpriced for something you can get at Whole Foods for much less.

The first thing I noticed about this conditioning shampoo, is that it’s a little more watery than other shampoos, and I have to use more than I do with others, but I liked it. I like that it is sulfate free, but there are a few other ingredients I would rather avoid such as sodium benzoate. But it cleans my hair well and leaves it manageable in that I can comb through my long hair pretty well after using this without following up with conditioner. It has a mild citrus smell. I have been using it for about 2 weeks now–washing every 3rd day, and there have been several times where I added a conditioner, but overall a decent shampoo, however, for the price and the chemicals that I don’t care for, I will probably not order this again.

So first thing about this shampoo is the smell. Not bad but not great either. The bottle is smaller and it takes multiple pumps to lather enough to feel like it’s washing your hair. It’s supposed to be conditioning but it made my hair feel dry and crusty while air drying. This might be a “guest” shampoo but not one I would order again.

It took me a few washes to get used to the consistency of this shampoo and work out the best way to use it. It has a more watery consistency and you may be tempted to use way more than needed when you see how watery it is. It seems to be highly concentrated so you don't actually need to use a lot, just add some more water on your hair and try to work it around more.. it'll suds up more when you add more water.It feels a little more like a clarifying shampoo, but doesnt strip or dry out my hair. It doesn't feel rough after using it like some clarifying shampoos make it feel.My hair just feels clean, refreshed and smooth. My scalp also feels refreshed.I don't use the matching conditioner.I use it on the kids, too (both 6 yrs old) with no issues or irritations. On the kinky coily child, this shampoo actually softens up her hair a good bit.I do like it and have no complaints, but I don't think it is one I'd specifically seek out again. It just didn't wow me.

This REN shampoo is a lightweight shampoo cleanses your hair with the light slightly fruity scent. The scent is somewhat mild and I would’ve prepared something a little bit stronger, but it is pleasant.I am alternating usage of this and a dandruff shampoo currently and the REN shampoo does not seem to be impacting my scalp in a negative way. This shampoo doesn’t weigh down my hair and my normally oily hair does look and feel clean afterwards.This doesn’t lather up very much though, so if you have longer hair, I feel like it’ll be much more difficult to wash your hair with this.
