The Beautiful Poetry of Donald Trump

I bought this as a gag gift for my buddy who's a big Trump fan... he loved it.. its in his bathroom as toilet reading material and he said it always gets great reviews from everyone who visits and has to go relieve themselves. :). Funny stuff here.

Of je nu wel of geen Trump supporter bent, een ieder weldenkend mens moet toegeven dat weinigen in zijn voetsporen zullen kunnen en willen treden. Wanneer je missie groter is dan je eigen belang, je roeping angst en weerstanden ombuigt tot de racket-brandstof waarmee hij zich in zijn eerste regeer periode al heeft gemanifesteerd, dan moet het duidelijk zijn dat Trump een ander groter doel dient welke waarachtiger is dan wat we tot nu toe in de USA hebben gezien. Zijn ongelikte repliek, kordate alpha energie en dito beloftes geven burgers in de USA en ook ver daarbuiten iets van hoop dat het tij echt gaat keren. Zijn humor en onnavolgbare toewijding aan de burgers van de USA zijn bewonderenswaardig. Geen mooie woorden maar harden feiten, geen sell-out maar misfit van het etablissement. Onbeteugeld maar doelgericht.

This is all so cleverly put together.It is laugh out loud funny, until you remember that he actually said this stuff, and that he truly believes it.Brilliant, highly recommended book.

Bought this on a whim thinking it might be good for a laugh and perhaps a funny gift idea.(Based on the cover I’m assuming the intention was comedic so I am judging it on those merits.)I think I was expecting a book full of Trump quotes, perhaps with some commentary. I assumed ‘poetry” was a playful reference to Trump’s rather unique way of expressing himself.Instead the author has taken completely unrelated sentences from Trump, often said in different contexts and several years apart, and arranged them in poem form.To me that’s not an interesting, clever or funny idea, as well as pretty pointless because you end up with something Trump, as a whole, did not in fact say. So this is not Trump’s ‘poetry’, it’s the author’s/editor’s.Nonetheless, it’s probably possible to squeeze jokes out of this idea, but in my opinion this fails even at that, I didn’t laugh once.
