Excellent helmet for young passengers
This one was purchased for a sturdy 8 month old to ride in a trailer. I've purchased the same model before and the helmet has held up well. Parents are careful not to give as the kids as a toy so they don't drop or otherwise compromise its safety. Easily takes older infants through the toddler stage, so they can wear while on self-propelled riding toys. Helmet has easy to adjust headband so after putting it on it can be snugged up. They have a wide flange on the inside of the buckle to minimize chances of pinching sensitive skin when connecting the straps.

Great first helmet
Bought this for my 12 month old who has a large head. It fits her well with some room to grow.

This worked great for a toddler with a small head!
If you have a child with a small sized head or are looking for a helmet for a young child, don't be dumb like we were. We made our child wear the (same size) helmet we bought him, attempting to keep it on his head by adjusting it every 5 minutes for three outings before he finally went on strike. Toddlers don't have that knob at that back of the head, and the other one just couldn't hold onto anything. We tried this one, supposedly the same size and it worked. We learned a hard lesson. If the helmet doesn't fit, get one that does.

Nice helmet, two clear size options
After researching and trying a couple options, I chose this helmet because:1. It appears to be good quality and have good coverage (back, sides, forehead). I do not know for a fact that it is safer than a cheap brand, but I feel better about putting the Little in a respectable cyclist brand.2. The back is "flat" (as opposed to oblong like adult helmets), making it easier for the Little to sit back in the bike trailer. Of course, it still sticks out an inch or more on the back of his head, but that cannot really be avoided if you want protection.3. It has clear size options. My first choice was the Lazer Bob, but I heard complaints about them running small. The Giro Scamp XS is clearly marked 46-49 cm and the S is clearly marked 49-53 cm (note that this differs slightly from the generic size chart on Giro's website, but the individual product pages are correct). The Little's head is 48 cm, a bit above the 50% line for 16 months old, so I bought and tried both. Not surprisingly, the XS is a better fit, especially the straps. However, the S is adequately adjustable; it could even go a tiny bit tighter than his 48-cm coconut. Since he is already near the upper limit of the XS, I elected to keep the S instead, which should last him several years.--- Update (24 August 2016) ---The Little has been using this helmet 2-4 times a week for about five months on the YBIKE Pewi and/or riding in the bike trailer. So far, so good. After the first couple outings, the Little got used to wearing it and now often forgets that he even has it on. The GIRO lettering is starting to peel and the helmet has developed some minor scuffs from the concrete (more from the Little dragging it around in hand than from actual falls), but the helmet and straps are solid as ever. I have noticed that it tends to slide back on him sometimes, which I attribute to him still being on the very small end of the fit range of the S.

A little big on my 14 month old
This helmet works well. The knob in the back tightens well, the strap under the chin could go a little tighter. Happy with the purchase, havenโt tested it (i.e. crashed it) but seems like a good quality helmet.

Fits Nicely! The little black plug on the back is the key!
Bought this helmet for our little guy. Read about the Lazer Bob and the Giro Me2 helmets. There were a couple of reviews about the attachment of the straps in the Giro and the Lazer Bob supposedly runs small. Googled helmets serveral times and found that Giro offered this helmet and it was recommend due to construction and adjustments that are similar to an adult helmet. I am an avid rider and was hoping to find something of comparable quality to my own helmet. We measured our little dudes head and found him to be at the top end of the XS and middle of the S. The small fits nicely but it is adjusted towards the small side of the range. The dial adjustment allowed the size to be quickly fitted before he lost his patience. The straps seemed way too long with there being no adjustment to even out both sides. So more research and the manual was no help. There is a black plug in the back that can be gently pried out to all the straps to slide through the back of the helmet and even the length. This made all the difference and the helmet fits excellent. I would recommend this helmet highly and when the little guy gets out of the trailer, we will be ordering the MIPS version. At the end, of all the fitting, a trip around in the trailer made our little dude squeal with joy!

Do not buy if you have a Thule or high back bike seat
Thought this helmet was cute and it was one of the smallest I could find for my peanut head one-year old. I was super excited to start biking with my little guy in tow. Unfortunately the back of this helmet sticks out, thus making my son lean forward, bruising his spine up against the back of the Thule bike seat. Sadly, I can not go on rides with him until I find a helmet that is flat in the back so that he can sit comfortably.Considering that this helmet is made for tiny kids, they should know most toddlers are going to be in bike seats or trailers and make it so that it's flat in the back.Poor design.

Great kids helmet and fun colors
My grandson has a blue giro at home so I got the green one to keep at our house. He loves having a helmet the same color as Papaโs

Definitely not the MIPS version
Product description states this is the MIPS version, but the product that arrived is not the MIPS version as can be seen by the lack of the yellow dot on the back left.

Received the non-MIPS version
Itโs a normal scamp helmet. Still a great helmet for a toddler, but if you want the MIPS, look elsewhere.
