The Rhythm Book: Studies in Rhythmic Reading and Principles (Dover Books on Music)

Being a multi instrumentalist, I’ve read many books about rhythm, hands down, this is the best. A most have for those who teach for the insight on teaching rhythm. A must have for every musician to understand HOW TO READ rhythm. Example of real music used by Mr. Phillips (MM) were not only just example but for the read to engage in what is being discussed. Excellent interpretation explaining meter and units of the beat. Sonata #32 was made readable thru two principles of how we read and write notation. Such a well written book.
