Well, I am happy to say that my shin splints hurt way less but the bad thing is, my foot hurts like crazy if I wear it for long.

I bought these arch support insoles for walking after taking up a daily walking routine, around 12,000 steps a day. After a while, I started experiencing lower back pain and foot fatigue. Someone at the gym suggested trying orthotic insoles, so I went to the mall where they scanned my feet and recommended custom insoles… for over $100! No way.I searched Amazon for a more affordable option and found these plantar fasciitis insoles. I’m so glad I did. These shoe inserts for back pain provided the right arch and heel support, making walking much more bearable. I noticed less discomfort in my feet and back, and I’ve been waking up with noticeably less morning pain.They fit perfectly in my sneakers and gave me the kind of cushioning and foot support I didn’t even know I needed. I’ve used them in both casual shoes and running shoes, and they’ve held up great.If you're on your feet all day or getting back into a fitness routine, these insoles for standing all day are a game changer. These looked very similar to my Cadence brand insoles, so I wanted to give them a shot. I mean, if I could get something very comparable to what I currently have AND save money, why not?? When sitting down, they feel fine inside the shoes. Surprisingly so, they felt almost the same as my Cadence brand. As soon as I stood up though, I knew I wouldn't like them long term...You can really feel the insole at the medial arch of your foot. It's taller (higher up) than the Cadence brand. It was very obvious that there was something there. I personally found this annoying. For lack of better words, it felt like when your socks are too big and they bunch up in a spot. That's how I felt with the insole at the medial arch. I found this more irritating than anything... Not a deal breaker though. I'm sure with time, I *may* get used to them. But....I also found that the metatarsal arch cushion actually caused me discomfort when walking. It felt like someone was pushing with their fingers into that spot. (I hope that makes sense!) In other words, there was a bit of pressure in the metatarsal arch that actually was causing a dull pain. The odd thing is the metatarsal arch pad support in these is rather soft; comparable to that of the Cadence brand... So I'm not sure why there is such discomfort for me when I wore them. But there was.These definitely did not appeal to me in the less than five minutes or so I tried them out. Again, literally less than five minutes and I was already feeling pain in the metatarsal arch area from the support pad.

The best arch supports ever. I buy a size 8 1/2 women's, and I use the Merrell hiking boots size 9. I removed the inserts from the hiking boots and put these in--they are a perfect fit. This combo is much better than any other nursing shoes I've ever used. That includes tennis shoes, clogs, or Birkenstocks. My knees don't hurt, my feet don't hurt. I would definitely buy these again.

Repeat customer but, compared with others, this pair seems to have the metatarsal pad mounted too close to the heel.
