I'm 5'2" and it was too long for me and I wear 2 1/2" dance shoes. I pulled it up above my waist and wore an over blouse for a top to hide it. It's a great full skirt for dancing otherwise. An ambitious person could shorten the hem, I would think and lose little fullness.

It is a full skirt. You can move as you please in it. Only thing is when you spin around. It doesnt flare out. It makes a pretty flowery design as you turn around in it.

Yes the elastic in the waist is very good
