Rothco MA-1 Flight Jacket Mens Bomber Jacket, is very similar to the one that Uncle Sam issued me a few decades back. This one is also well made and functional for my needs. Size fit maybe slightly small so adjust your size when ordering. Others I have tried had short sleeves compared to body size.

Nice jacket, looks good on him and he says it is very warm, the crinkly sound goes away in wearing it for a while so not a big deal - however this runs really small, like by two full sizes. He wears 2XL in pretty much everything, so I ordered a 3XL in this to give him a little extra room for hoodies or sweatshirts... yea not happening. It is just enough room to zip with a tee shirt underneath. We'll order another one in a 4 or 5XL so there is definitely room for those hoodies, because he does like the jacket, zippers are nice and sturdy and work well, stitching is tight, good quality especially for the price. Recommended, just size up!

It's very warm on cold nights on duty & it comes down to the waist just above my duty belt. Very comfortable. Fits perfect without an under vest, but may need a size larger to accommodate an under vest on duty.

My husband really liked this jacket. Nice color as well. Fit is just right. I highly recommend this jacket.

I bought this to replace an MA-1 I bought from Galls(?) some 16 years ago. The pockets didn't like all the use and washing.I figured, "Hey! This Rothco was a contract builder for these in the 60's. It's gotta be good!" No. Absolutely not.Here's my issues in numbered order:1. The outer shell was OK. No better or worse than the ages old jacket I can't let go. Cuffs seemed good as well. Arm length was OK.2. The pockets were some thin synthetic gray material, and they were very shallow. You'd have trouble fitting an average smart phone into it. My hands were fighting for space inside them.3. The lining of the jacket was so thin you could see through it. Flip it inside out and snag something, and you'd lose all your stuffing.4. The zipper sucks. I had to fight with it for three minutes to get it to zip up all the way because it catches. Do they make bear traps?5. The Chinese Factory that produces these don't seem to understand American sizes properly.5.a.The sleeves were great for length.5.b. Across the shoulders it was too tight.5.c. Across the torso it was too tight.5.d. This jacket is entirely too short. It was so busy hugging my shoulders that it couldn't drop down to my belt line.6. Inclusion of extra snaps tells me that the snaps you put on it were junk, and it's not a great confidence booster.I'm 5'11" and broad shouldered. So much so that I require 2XL just so it hangs correctly across my shoulders. It also lets me throw a hoodie underneath for an extra layer when needed. This failed every aspect of my requirements. I could have gone 3XL to get shoulder fit, but the bad zipper, see through lining, and shallow pockets make this a non starter. I'm returning it. And am avoiding all Rothco products from here on out.Long story short, If you want something durable, and well built, this is not it.

First - I want to say this product appears to be incredibly well made, it seems like it would be very warm and - if it fit - comfy.I'm a very obese man (working on that), and I have found it extremely difficult to find jackets that fit me that are not hundreds of dollars. This one looked amazing, but when I tried to put it on, although the shoulders are perfect, the sleeves are the exact length, and it's about the right size around the chest... the size does not make allowance for big people who have a larger belly than their chest.If you're not morbidly obese this jacket is great. If you need a large size because you are a very large muscular person, then the big and tall sizes of this jacket will probably fit you great. But it is not designed for fat folks like me. It makes me very sad to have to return it.

I ordered one size up and it fit perfectly. Jacket is short, but this style of jacket is designed to fit short, and this is an accurate replica in that regard. If you're looking for a longer cut, you're better off buying a fashion brand or whatever.

My husband has worn one of these bomber jackets for ever, so of course my youngest son wanted one. I bought him the original Alpha version, which they no longer sell here. I was trying to find a similiar one for my stepson, who wanted one now, and I ordered one brand, and it was nothing like what was shown in the ad. So I looked around on Amazon, and this brand seemed like a great choice, and it is 100%. It is well made, has leather tabs on the zipper pulls, which were individually wrapped with care. Came with extra snaps in case some break, and was well wrapped in plastic and in a box. My stepson was very pleased; plus my husband was eyeing his jacket because his old one is worn out. It looks like I will be buying another for my husband for Xmas!! Just some extra info, these jackets are made short, always hitting just a bit lower than waist height; so if u are quite tall, it might b too short...it is the style of the bomber jacket. They were made short-waisted and with puffer sleeves, so pilots were not restricted in movement...
