Q: Will the rocks have to be refrigerated if not used right away ?

I’ve used some of mine and have not refrigerated them at all. They’re still good and I’ve had them for a few months in an air conditioned home in Florida. I suppose you might consider refrigerating them if you’re going to keep them for a long time, or if the ambient temperature or humidity where you store them is high enough that they could melt or degrade more quickly.

Q: About how many rocks are in a package?

About 4 or 5. They are a good size and look exactly like real rocks. I put them in a bowl on my kitchen table and told my family it was a rock display. I then started to eat one and they were horrified-thinking I was crazy and going to break my teeth. It was a hysterical prank.

Q: Do these have artificial food dye?

Yes, according to the package ingredients label. It includes specifically: "Artificial colors (includes FD&C Blue 1, Blue 2, Red 40, Yellow 5, Yellow 6)."
