Friends:One plastic caster broke as I assembled the chair as I drove it into place with a rubber mallet per the instructions.The manufacturer offered to replace the entire chair but I found the casters are for sale on amazon so I just purchased two replacements.There is a small block of wood with the casters. This block has to be positioned in the correct place on the caster to install the caster with a rubber mallet. The plastic casters are strong but can not take a direct blow from a rubber mallet.Thinking Allowed....Arthur Gerard Michael Baron von Boennighausen

Edit: after owning this chair for a bit, it’s still holding up, including the casters, and I’m pretty tough on things. The chair did start to squeak unbearably while on work calls, but some wd40 in the mechanical Bits solved that quick. I still recommend this tank of a chair.My original review: Heavy, sturdy chair keeps you up right and alert for work. Easy to assemble but heavy enough for some people to need a buddy to help out. The casters are the cheapest element of this product but not a deal breaker of installed with deliberate focus on how the hammer hit is traveling through the caster into the main shaft of the caster when installing into the base. I was very careful on how I installed the casters and had no issues.

Looks great, seems sturdy, but the seat lift has failed after less than one year. Set the seat to your preferred height, then enjoy the ride down! BTW, I'm not a heavy guy, under 200 lbs.

The red color is very pretty, not flag red nor burgundy. The style goes perfectly with my Mission style desk. I'm not super handy but the assembly directions were clear, although I didn't pay close enough attention and put a short screw in a spot requiring a long screw and had to get help to remove it since I tightened it too firmly. Once that was resolved I was very pleased with the finished product. The seat cushion and back are fairly firm. This isn't a cushy chair you'd sink into, nor an ergonomic chair designed with lumbar support. I probably wouldn't be as happy if I sat in it for long periods of time. But for my purposes it is comfortable enough and very attractively complements my other furniture.

Came broken, but I didn’t want to go thru the hassle of calling company and returning it. The chair only goes to one position due to broken part. It just happens to be the position that is good for me. It is suppose to be able to move up and down with the handle on the right but it is not working. I will still use the chair

Chair was perfect for our small office. After reading other reviews we purchased “Office Chair Wheels Black Replacement Rubber Chair casters for Hardwood Floors and Carpet, Set of 5, Heavy Duty Office Chair casters for Chairs to Replace Chair mats - Universal fit” from Amazon. Fortunately they arrived first so we put them on when we built the chair. It rolls easily on hardwood floor and carpet.

Got these to use as dining chairs so not having to sit in for long periods. Look nice for that purpose. Not sure how they’d be as a desk chair you had to sit in all day because they are really firm. Wide seat adjustment range from dining table to almost counter height.

Took off a star because the caster part wouldn’t sit quite right, even using a mallet, and the hubs is uber handy. Very good product though, we’re happy. Wish they had a camel color. One of the few wooden frame/base chairs in this price range. I looked at hundreds of chairs! Shipped quickly and arrived in great shape.

Great quality office chair that is comfortable and looks great.If you want a retro look buy this.
