All in all I would not recommend this book
This was not so much a book about James Taylor as it was a VERY long gossip column. It was a very disappointing book in that there was so little information on James Taylor and his life. The author did hit on the important aspects of Taylor's Heroin addiction yet even that was scant information. There was page after page listing other artists and their music during the years and yet he just seem to skim over Taylor's songs. All in all I would not recommend this book. Like I said it was more like a very long gossip column rather than a biography of James Taylor.

Boo.
This book is as bad as the one I read years ago. Long winded, with very little content as to James Taylor's life. Filled with stupid reviews by obscure people and hopping back and forth in time. It's very difficult to read and I find myself skimming through it to find something interesting. I wish I had read the other reviews before purchasing this. It's going in the trash when I finish it.

Only For J.T.'s Most Forgiving Fans
Rife with nonsensical, non sequitur nonsense, the run-on sentences often double back on themselves and disprove the original point. I now see why James Taylor refused to contribute to the book. While super fans will glean some new insights from the interviews with J.T.'s old compadres, the casual fan is better off saving the time, energy and cost of slogging through this badly written excuse for a biography.

GRAT READ FOR ANY JT FAN
A must for any James Taylor fan, explores the origins of his songs, his inspiration. Not just for baby boomers and Woodstock graduates. This soft rock star will be better understood by the new generations as well
