Game Changer!
I heard about Umami from a show on Netflix (Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat). The salt episode piqued my curiosity about various salts to compliment and bring out flavors in various foods. I am an avid cook and really enjoy the science behind cooking and this is right up my alley.This Umami (Shitake & Sea Salt) is pretty amazing! I tried it on some... get this... mushrooms... when sautéing them for a mushroom, swiss omelet; something I whip up often. The flavor was undeniable. It was fantastic! Umami makes your tastebuds... satisfied. I'm so glad I ordered this! I'm going to use it to finish a ribeye tonight that is currently in the sous vide. (Steak and mushroom (go figure) and hasselback potatoes.)Not sure why some reviews were Debbie Downers on this product. I can definitely taste the mushroom flavor, even without it on mushrooms. Flavors DO take some time to marry and reach their full potential. If you're on the fence, buy it! If you are looking to put some "wow" in your meals, this is a great place to start.

My secret ingredient
My secret ingredient for chicken soup!1# chicken1 can vegall, rinsed well4 cups water1 tsp umami salt1 pkg Lipton onion soup mix1/3 pkg egg noodles - add after all the chicken is cooked and about 10 mins before servingCheap per serving, low calorie, very filling. Got inspired to make a soup with the umami salt, and this is what I came up with! Enjoy!

Quality of salt itself
I love quality salt.. Himalayan, Celtic and never have adverse effects but!!!! This the time I used this my eyelids swelled and around eye.. I use shiitake regularly so I question where the salt originated.. it’s 10 bucks and no returns… hmmm

Great Product!!!
Great product! I bought this to spice up my cooking with some new, interesting flavors. I've been trying this on everything and it's a big hit in my house! We've been sprinkling this on everything from eggs to pastas and even salads. The taste is subtle, but it really adds a nice rich flavor that blends well with almost anything. The texture also makes it easier to sprinkle over food by hand. Personally, I like it on veggie-based dishes, but my wife swears they go best on a boiled egg. It's a little more expensive than regular salt, but it's lasting me a while and was well worth the buy.

Yummy!!
This is my second purchase! The first was for a gift but I got to try it and I looove the flavor it adds. I tried it first on mashed potatoes and it elevated them so much. I’m so excited to play around with it in different dishes!!

Great to use on mushroom dishes like sautéed or sauces…
I’ve had quite a few guests and family compliment my sautéed mushrooms saying the taste similar to Masala style dishes…you enjoy this very taste enhancing salt!
