When's the next one coming out?
I would actually give this a 3 1/2 star rating, but that dang half star just doesn't work. Why is this not a 4 or higher for me? As others have noted, this book is so slow. I am not sure what happened- but something made the story drag for me. Maybe there was just so much more foundation laying that needed to be done to continue this book, I don't know for sure. I just know that I was easily able to put this down because nothing was happening for most of it.Was that the only reason that I didn't give it a higher rating? No, it wasn't. It's fine and dandy for an author to have her beliefs, but I felt like I was being lectured in some places - specifically in regards to homosexuality and marriage. I think the story could have been just fine without having it shoved down my throat what the author's personal beliefs were. This is fiction; it's definitely not reality. If it were, I'd be demanding to know where my own David was (although there's many things that I would change about him, so perhaps it's a good thing I don't have this exact model of David). But that's besides the point. I don't like being lectured- either in person or by way of book.I won't give any spoilers, but dammit, I'm not exactly happy where this series is going. This book made me rather sad- although I did NOT cry in it like I did with the last one. I swear that one had me in tears from page one.Anyways, would I recommend this to anyone? Yes, I would- but only because I would expect them to have read the first books and would need to know what happened in this one! I definitely do not recommend this book to someone who has never read the previous ones (starting from book one).If you attempt to read it without having the background story, you are going to be sorely disappointed and would probably not even bother to give this world a try. Will I read the next installment? Most definitely. I am curious about Miranda and David's world. Plus I'm always up for a new character.

get a box of puffs plus
oh wow! I have to say, I was rivetted and even went without much needed sleep since I'm a night shift nurse to keep reading and find out what happens next. And let my tell you I bawled my eyes out and came really close to tossing my kindle across the room I was so angry. You really have to give an author credit when you find you find yourself sobbing and cursing at the bad guys. Okay, so I won't give away much else, but still.., Ms. Sylvan you'd better give us a sequel so we can see how the rest of this settles out ... God I love this series and all the charcters. Thank you for creating such an incredibly diverse world with such richly flawed characters. I will totally pre-order the next book(s) in this series right now. COUNT ME IN> PS> Down with Morningstar!I never liked zealot bullies anyway.eilonwe

Moments of greatness mixed with long boring moments
Of all the books in the series this one took me the longest to read. There should have been more emotional intensity given what happens but there wasn't. This book lacked the ability to connect as affectively as the first books in the series. It was good but not as emotive.

Better Each Book
This series has been my go to comfort read for sometime now. Shadowbound just adds to the enjoyment. It continues the story of Queen Miranda of the Southern Region, her Prime, David Solomon and the whole of the Shadow World. This book has more focus on some of the other characters of the series but still, it's Miranda's story.Sadly, the publisher decided to not pick up the rest of the books in the series. Their loss is what I think. The author, Dianne Sylvan has promised to self-publish the remainder of the story. I, personally, will eagerly buy it in whatever format she publishes. I can't wait to continue.

Good
This one was good. Although i'm not so sure where the author's going with the whole Deven thing. I mean really, I've never liked him to begin with, but it's just ugh, how is story got played out. The whole story is weird. If they're mates, true mates, then what's with the extra feelings, desires, and people. Why? Why make your characters hormonal like that? sheesh... But, other than that, I thought it was a fun read.

Beautiful Addition
Amazing book that will rip your heart open. Miranda, David, Devon and Johnathan are such amazing characters. Their relationship is so unique and lovely. How can anyone not love them. I thought my heart broke when David did Miranda wrong, then when she lost him but this new addition gives a whole new meaning to shattered heart. I read the book in one sitting and needed more right after I was done. I highly recommend this as a MUST READ!
