Q: If I have about 2inches of this in my tank can I put live plants into it.

You can but fish will possibly dig the plants up. You ideally need about 3 inches.

Q: Can someone please confirm that the black this is 100% natural rather than coated with black resin or plastic? Thanks in advance.

Not sure what its coated in but I've used it for a long time with no problems at all just needs a good clean before use hope that helps

Brilliant gravel/sand Vackuums well and you have to wash it

Q: Will this harm Cory catfish with their delicate skin?

This should be fine, mine were. It's large or sharp gravel type substrate I believe can damage their barbles.
