Great for nuts
We love nuts, but keeping them fresh is tough. This does the trick and creates an air tight seal.

Had it for over a year now
I use this Prepara Evak glass airtight container to store coffee beans. It keeps my dark rich (oily) coffee beans fresh with wonderful odor. My Oxo coffee grinder is right next to the Prepara Evak on my kitchen counter, I grind a couple of tablespoons of coffee beans in the morning, my kitchen smells like Starbuck's, then my small single serve coffee maker is next to the grinder and the beans become a hot cup of rich coffee. I love mornings, retired now, what luxury, getting paid for not working, and starting each day with a cup of coffee worthy of Starbuck's at a fraction of the price. That, with the NYT Wordle opened in front of me and all is well with the world (unless I look at the news).

Fragile but nice
Works well and looks nice.A bag of coffee beans fills it right to the top.Careful putting the plunger in too far. It will shatter when you pull it out if there's too much pressure.

Good
I use this for coffee bean storage. I tried a 'vacuum container' and found that it only reduced the air pressure to about 0.65 bar (reduced pressure by about 35%), so 65% of the oxygen partial pressure remains. I used altimeter watch (barometric) to measure. Instead, I got this airtight container. This container fits closely on top of the beans reducing the ullage space to zero. But wait! There's more: the interstitial space still remains, so I attached a canula to a CO2 cartridge-based bike tire filler and used it (starting with the canula at the bottom of the container) to fill the container full of coffee beans with CO2. Roasted coffee outgasses CO2 naturally. I think this is a pretty straight-forward solution. The nice thing with the CO2 is that you can check to be sure the gas level is at the top of the container by sniffing the container opening. The CO2 is heavy and has a pungent 'smell'. If I used helium, it would float away, if I used argon I wouldn't be sure the container was full. Anyway, works great; every time I get beans for coffee, I refill the container with CO2, sniff to verify gas blanket extends to top of container, and replace top, displacing excess CO2 while the interstitials remain filled with the CO2. Done and done.

Keeps it Fresh
I wanted a coffee storage container that was easy to open and easy to close and was not messy to use. I just put the coffee in the container, and them I push down on the cover and it slides easily into the container. I can feel the air flowing out of the container, through the cover, when I push it down onto the coffee. The cover is easily removed and allows air back into the container as I pull it out. The container is wide enough to allow me to move my hand down into the bottom of it to get coffee out without having to tip the container over and then pour out the coffee to allow me to reach it. If you push down too hard on the cover, then the bottom of it will push into the coffee and coffee grounds will get pushed into the vents. I am happy with this unit!

Read Item Descriptions Carefully
I LOVE this product! I blend my own mix of coffee (50% Maxwell House original, 50% New England Coffee Blueberry Cobbler). When the time comes to mix my coffee grounds, I just open up my Prepara Evak container and alternate scoops of coffee grounds, put the lid back on (leaving some air space), shake her up real good, then push the lid down to eliminate the airspace. Keeps my coffee fresh, convenient to use, looks great on my counter next to the coffee maker. Both the container and the lid are easy to clean (just make sure to take the lid apart for cleaning, it's easy).**Note: I was so impressed by this container, I decided to buy another one in a different size. I didn't pay enough attention to the description on the 2nd one, and ended up buying a plastic container. It works fine, but it's not as nice as the glass version. Just be aware that these are available in both glass and plastic. The glass is more expensive, and it is noticeably nicer.

Very delicate! Broke while pushing lid down with normal pressure.
The glass is too delicate. After about 20 uses, the glass cracked as I pushed the lid down. Worked well until the crack formed. Very disappointed the glass broke with normal usage. I would not recommend getting this product unless you treat it like a delicate flower.

Minimalista e eficiente!

It is a good design
It is used to store coffee beans well. However, its silicone sealing ring is gradually becoming hardened, and it does not know how to get replacement parts.

These are really cool - fantastic for coffee storage
I'm using these to store freshly-roasted coffee beans (they need to vent; this container allows that) and to store fresh grinds - these containers have stopped my coffee grinds from going bitter! Coffee used to get bitter within a matter of days, and now I keep it for a good fortnight (and then I've used them all). I can fill it with coffee beans and hold the container lid, and it will support the weight of the jar and contents (sliding slowly out if the jar is full, due to the force of the mass and gravity).Really glad that I bought two of these, and I love the "SSSCCCHHHHLLRRRRRRPP!!" sound the vaccuum makes whenever I remove or replace the canister lid

Danke
