This could be like Gang related meets Candyman.
It starts off with a mysterious death of a police officer, who's ex- partner is 1st at the crime scene, the crime scene is quite intriguing as the officer appears to be hit by a vehicle but then is found suspended on top of a building grimsoulsly killed. That alone gets u hooked as the partner investigates, and finds out this woman who was there before the "thing" happens leaves before she is questioned . I've watched this alone thinking was it like a hit, or gang member killing a cop, but as u keep watching u realize something unatural is happening. I watched it. Than I read the starring cast didn't even know it was Mary j Blige. Wow!!!! She plays a good cop, who has lost her son and realizes the woman she is after also loses her son but to a wrongful police shooting. The only thing I can say it is that they should of emphasized what was it" that was killing these cops. Some kind of ghost, or something more super natural!!! It's really scary to think if this kind of justice exist. Like I say u have to watch it yourself to relate to these characters.

Supernatural Flick defies all logic, BUT, delivers solid mood and scares!
I would have loved to rate this higher, really, because it is a throwback to older movies where you are not really sure what you have seen, or are about to see, and it all occurs under mostly rainy dismal night times, in deserted urban settings and "haunted" houses and factories....The problem is: there is no explanation as to how what goes on, could have possible gone on, and for good reason: it is totally IMPOSSIBLE....When you are murdered unfairly ( of which how many millions have been in human history), there are NO avenging "angels", or perhaps demons, or whatever, that appear in our mortal vale and wreak horrendous retribution on the culprits. If it WERE the case, the spiritual airwaves would be more crowded than an LA freeway at rush hour! Of course, that is what happens in the dramatic world of a Hollywood movie, as opposed to reality, where 90 percent of murderers are convicted and then lead a drab existence in a high security prison. But the way we are led to the conclusions of this movie ignores this patent falsehood and instead, gives us a surprisingly professional acting job by the famous Mary J. Blige, not exactly a spring chicken anymore, but displaying acting chops that suggest she may very well have a second successful career coming up.As a dedicated Policewomen, she seems to be the only one truly concerned about an unfair murder of a black youth by a Police officer, and for right reason, because virtually all of the people trying to discourage her, are involved in some way in a heinous cover up.This movie is very current in it's depiction of what is happening on too many of our streets these days, and we all know the social consequences of such actions. It is topical, regardless of your political bent on the subject, and Blige is seriously trying to get to the bottom of things, despite people telling her she is crazy, and all of them attempting to derail her valiant efforts.Getting there is more than half the fun, as it unwinds in a patient but tense manner, as you learn little by little, just what is going on....Stick with it, in spite of the confusion you will exhibit for the first half hour or so, it is worth it, and put on your best "suspension of disbelief" and you will be rewarded by a creepy, atmospheric little thriller.

This is a great movie, but has racial undertones, very violent, but Mary Blighe was amazing in this.
This is a movie, ultimately, about two women who lost their black sons violently. This movie was great because Mary Blighe was really amazing. I didn't know who it was, but what a great actress she is. The supporting cast was just as amazing as well. The story was well written, but...This is about really bad white cops killing an unarmed black kid in a bad way and covering it up. It's up to the really good black cops to find the killer(s) and bring justice to the black kid. Although that was the gist of it, and I hate, hate radical undertones of any type (we have enough in the real world), this movie was just too good to not provide 5 stars...However, Be Warned! It is very violent at times, hard to watch because of what happens to the young black kid, and horribly sad for the two mothers. I had a hard night's sleep after this.

I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE ...
Okay, you got me.The acting, from Ms Blige on down the credits, except maybe for the really, really bad guy and his boss, appeared to be a reliving of personal experiences, conflicts, and tragedies that each of the actors pulled out of their gut. You can see it in their eyes. I was really surprised as I'd prepared myself for a bit of a fluff movie but was hoping it wasn't.Entertaining, not sure about what was going to happen next, a whole different perspective as seen through the eyes of a community I'm not privy to, I found this movie gripping, and that's hard come by for me.My only complaint is aimed at the Director, Malik Vitthal, and its because of him that I removed a star. His cop scene management was disappointing to say the least. He directed two cops (MJB and her sort of rookie partner) to approach a horrific crime scene with no idea if the perpetrator was still around nor what they were dealing with, without checking the perimeter with guns drawn, and it went downhill from there. Like turning their backs on what might be lurking in the dark to look inside the victim's car. Sitting ducks. No common sense, never mind police procedure. And that's not the only time the Director treated his viewers like complete idiots in police procedure scenes. Oh, and um, it takes how long for backup to appear when there's an officer down situation? Cricket, cricket, cricket.Apart from those instances, I thoroughly enjoyed the entire movie.
