A nice, unique case at a low price, with a few design niggles.
Marware designed a unique carbon-fibre case, updated here to custom-fit the iPad 2, that stands apart from the pack while drawing on some of the best features on the market. There are a few annoying things about the design, but despite those I really like this case overall. Read on for details and opinions. The Marware C.E.O. Hybrid isn't on amazon's top bestselling tablet cases, but in this case that is no bad thing. I really like the woven Carbon Fibre look and feel; it's practical because it's strong and won't scuff like leather in a bag or brushing against things, but it also looks unique and classy in the same way as a herringbone pattern. My university provided iPads to all (full-time) students since the day the first version was released April last year, but I am the only one with this case. The case is stiff and solid, with hinges and slots providing 3 landscape viewing/typing angles of view and the typical way to prop an iPad upright in portrait orientation, as well as smartcover magnets and a holding strap. The iPad 2 fits snugly into the backing with tabs holding all four corners and covering most of the right side of the iPad 2 except for control cutouts (both cameras are also unobstructed - the cutout on the back lines up perfectly with the rear camera on my case) - the measurements and quality control seem carefully considered. It's hard to slide the iPad 2 in & out of the case - I need two free, firm hands to do it & the case always presses the sleep button - so it's both secure & stubborn. To use the viewing angles you have to pop out the two left-side corners to allow the case back to fold, and you rest the iPad's edge into one of the slots or just let the back fold all the way over on itself for a typing angle.I like everything I've mentioned above, but there are a few things that bug me. The tabs that hold the case closed and hold the left side corners are, IMO, excessively stubborn and stiff. I mean, I have no fear that my iPad will fall out of the case, but the tabs curl over the iPad like a claw and I even had fear that the tabs that close the front cover would eventually etch the top of the iPad's aluminum. The cover tabs have gotten slightly easier to "unlatch" with use, but I still need two hands to pry the cover open. One other minor thing is sometimes the iPad will slip out of it's viewing angle grooves if you touch the screen or if the surface you're resting the case on isn't entirely flat - I would gladly trade a viewing angle for the more secure design of the first Apple iPad case, which would also mean you wouldn't have to take the left side out of the case's holding tabs.Overall, I love the look, functionality, and security this case provides. Everyone that looks at it is impressed, but they have a hard time opening it.

A great ipad 2 cover with protection that lets you sleep well at night.
After a couple of weeks of research, this case was the one we decided on. All the other leather cases (bear motion, case crown, kensington, etc.) were slip in covers. All with a major flaw to us. The corners are exposed and left unprotected! Well that would lead to a cracked screen which is exactly what we wanted protection from. We finally found the Marware CEO Hybrid and all looked like it was as we wanted. Corner protection along with good edge protection, front and back covers, a nice look and light weight.Pro's:- Good solid, thick, protection when closed.- Nice tight fit, the ipad will not slip out of the clasps, in fact you have to work to get the ipad out.- Nice woven look. Very classy and eye catching.- Nice soft interior that keeps the ipad in a soft scratchless bedding.- Easy and clear button accessibility, including the camera.- Nice extra features; hand band and front flap strap (although we find that because the case is very stiff, we don't use the flap strap because when holding the ipad with the front folded back it is stiff enough to stay flat against the back of the ipad).-Adjustable stand with multiple angle grooves. The bottoms tabs are easy to release so you can use the tilt stand at the 2 grooves. The grooves are deep enough that the ipad doesn't slip out of them and fall flat.- Multiple release clasps that help keep the cover closed (there are 3 total).- It is a smart cover than works each and every time.Con's:- Some of the edges fray a little, we just snap off the extra thread, not a big deal.- The tightness of the clasps that hold the ipad, although nice for peace of mind, occasionally make our screen protector bubble. We just lift the one tab that causes this and the bubbling will disappear for awhile.- It does weigh a little more than other cases, so a single hand will fatigue quickly. But we knew this and wanted the protection that comes with thickness and weight. We find that we usually rest the ipad on something, table, lap, stomach, etc.- There isn't a camera hole in the front cover, so when you fold the case over so the front cover sits back to the back cover, the camera is covered. So we have to keep the front cover open like a book to take photos or movies (especially in portrait). In landscape its a little better because we can use the ipad in the stand. The price was reasonable, $35 at the time. Other quality cases can be up to $10 less, but always seems to lack corner protection. The multiple angled stand feature was one we didn't think we would use often, but we use it all the time. Not only while on a table, but also on our lap. Much more useful than we ever thought, but to figure how useful it really was we needed to actually use the cover. We are more than just happy with the this case, we are delighted. Well worth the price.

Order in May 2012, still using it end of 2013
This case has lasted me more than one and a half years now and I'm still happy with the quality of it. It is extremely durable and fits very nicely on the iPad 2. I really like the feature where you can make it stand up as I use it for Skype and videos. The hand strap is not really to my liking but I don't mind as I can still hold the iPad normally. All in all, if you need this case you can buy it with trust as mine is still going and has showed no signs of weakness! 5 STARS
