Expensive but worth it
I bought this case for the card reader. I was previously using a USB-C reader and every time I took it somewhere I would bump the card and feared it would break. Now with the Kensington case with built in reader I don't have to worry. Simple install, rugged case, great product.

Doesn’t come with pen
Loved it but be aware this is the hard case cover only and that’s all. Not really worth the price. Doesn’t cover the front or a pen to write with. Case ONLY.

Not a credit card reader!!!!
I was under the impression that it had an attached credit card reader. Not only that, the only way to connect the reader for use is by covering the usb-c and having a usb-a for external attachments. The case does work well with the official surface go keyboard. Pen holder is a 3 out of 5 because it very tight and looks stressed, but also flips out at the tip occasionally.

CAC Reader Works But Has Issue
CAC reader works as designed using the case with my Surface Go Gen 1 (8Gb Ram, Intel 4415Y, and LTE). However, for whatever reason the case's internal USB hub has a bug, so that it will NOT initialize the CAC reader on boot. A quick fix will be just un-plug then re-plug the USB connection to the USB-C after boot, then the CAC reader will work again. It seems this is an issue only with Gen 1 and not Gen 2 based on comments, but I can't confirm this.

11 year active duty service member, this thing has made life a lot easier having a built in CAC reader and sturdy enough to go with me wherever the military sends me...
