Product works great

The overall polish and quality looks great. The pin with ring swivel attachment design implies that the shackle will be mounted to a deck or other fixed position. It will work well in that configuration for attaching a sail tack, etc.The shackle release pin works well for open and close. The spring tension is not excessive (maybe a bit light). The length of the rounded end pin allows easy closing of the shackle (which = a bit short). For those reasons I mentioned fixed position for the shackle application. If the shackle were flailing around at the end of a line it is likely that the pin would collapse the spring and release/open the shackle. BUT... the swivel with ring pin design isn't intended for that. It is made for a fixed position.I will buy this shackle again when needed.2cents vic

I purchased these shackles for my marithon carriage (horse drawn). They are heavy duty and perfect for this purpose.
