This is a tool not a show piece
This knife is an excellent value. Mine came sharp with no burrs or chips in the edge. The telephone book page test I was able to carve curls and “s” cuts with ease. I was able to baton 3” diameter logs just fine. Tip didn’t break off from the hammering and there was no visible deformation of the spine. I was able to throw sparks from my ferro rod, but the spine could be a bit sharper. The handle feels great in my hand. The brass pins and tube aren’t all flush but not painful. I took a dremel to them and now it’s perfectly fine. There are some machining marks in the handle as well, but I left them as I feel it adds character. The leather sheath is pretty darn good too. I can fit a ferro rod in the loop. With care I am confident the sheath and knife will last longer than me. I almost think people are one star reviewing Condor knives out of spite. Honestly I let those reviews keep me from buying one for a long time. Condor is no Bark River, but for the money you are getting a tool that will do any job you throw at it. You just won’t be able to use it as a show piece. Why would you though. Take it out abuse it, get it dirty, and live life.

All Around Work Horse
You can spend a lot more on a knife; I know I have. This Condor I added to the side of my pack. I've used it slicing, splitting wood for kindling, cutting cord, digging and a for a host of other duties while camping and moving down the river to fishing spots. It offers all the usage I need without the extravagant cost, and fear of beating it up or losing it. Pictured is the knife and sheath brand new, with a ferro rod added to the slot along the sheath, and some cordage add to the rod and the knife itself. I worked the edge a bit after I received it. It is easy to set a fine edge.

As With All Condors Knives - The Devil Is In The Detail
About the Bisonte Knife. The materials are good, I can only talk about the steel: 1095, and okay steel, proven and tested, it does the work, but it isnt anything fancy or flashy, just an old steel that also happens to be cheap to manufacture. I expect the knife to perform around that. The handles, appears to be good, hard wood, I can't say about the durability but the handle is ergonomic and very comfortable, with a nice slant. The finishingThis is where I cannot justify the cost, the knife came with the typical Condor blemishes that you cannot forgive at this price range.I am a knife collector, so I am keeping this one, but otherwise back would it have gone (sadly) to another uneducated, poor consumer, because I doubt poor QC knives are sent back to the manufacturer.I think that because of the finishing this knife if over priced.

Great Condor
I have several Condors and this is my favorite. It holds an edge great, the sheath is great quality, like all Condors. It’s a higher quality steel than most Condors, probably contributes to the edge retention. It’s become my go to camp/hunting knife.

At the price, I'm somewhat disappointed.
Sub $100 knife so I tempered my expectations (I'm sure I'm the first person to ever make that pun). I expected a knife that was rather imperfect but some of the finishing touches on this knife are just missing. The top edge of the knife has some pits and divots, which would be excusable on its own because I'll likely be batoning with this thing soon. The problem is, the issues don't stop there. One of the center rivets is not flush to the wood handle surface. It happens to be exactly where my finger lands so unless I remedy it, the blemish will be a constant reminder of the issue. Next, the wood itself has some significant problems, namely a area near the raise rivet where some sort of wood filler seems to have been used. Another wood issue is slightly more than superficial pitting on the wood near the lanyard hole brass ring. The ergonomics are so close but fall short in a really important place. The blade extends below the index finger portion of the grip, which in most cases is fine. On this knife however, it seems like a decision had to be made whether to extend the blade for finger stop and comfort, or make the blade flush to the handle. It is such an odd, short length past the handle that it digs into your finger in a very uncomfortable way.I am on the fence about returning it.

Fits my hand blade is nice
Sturdy leather sheath. Just the right length, 41/2 blade. Got it for digging things up on hikes ( gathering moss for our bonsais and terrariums., splitting wood, and all the usual thing you need a knife for. Do not care for folding knifes, have a Bunch and never feel comfortable with them.
