Great Reference Material
This was purchased as a Christmas gift for my son ( a PHD student) as research and reference material. He was very pleased with the condition of the book but mostly the great material he now has at his fingertips! I would not hesitate to make another purchase! Thanks!

Interesting from a historical perspective
Don't pay the scalper(s) for this book. The book is interesting: mentions some famous mathematicians and some personal things, such as his first wife, his two children, his father and his childhood. Early on, he had a talent for solving differential equations and helped in this regard physicists at Los Alamos during the war. Perhaps you can locate this book in a library. I just found it free online. It's in a pdf file, just Google bellman eye of the hurricane. Earlier I was discribing from memory what I read years before. Now I'm reading it free from the downloaded file. It is facinating. Bellman was of course brilliant. You get to meet Lefshitz (sorry for mispelling) and other renowned mathematicians. It is really well written. He writes of some of the hurtles he had to go through. The book is hard to put down.
