Dick Strawbridge entertains and enlightens
This is a book to accompany the BBC Series of the same name and if you had all the resources, particularly the land, to start with, you too could do some of this. It has some interesting ideas and some bits and pieces that almost anyone could implement but a lot of it requires resources, particularly that of people. Doing the TV series helped the Strawbridge family in their quest to live a more eco-friendly life but also their boundless enthuaism and ability to think laterally.More of a diary than anything else it's a fun read that almost sounds like Dick Strawbridge does on TV (I haven't seen this series but I have seen him, and his son on other programs). It has hints but if you're looking for ideas to move that way yourself unless you have land and resources it's not that useful. Entertaining yes, educational not so much.

Excellent
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a great followup to the series and has given me some wonderful ideas for our home. In fact, I have now started a compost bin and planted a herb garden. I also have great plans for an organic garden. It was hard to put down and I read it within a few days.

Interesting and practical
An interesting read which does not shy away from the more technical aspects of going green. Still it describes a lifestyle that is simply out of the reach of the majority of people in this country but an enjoyable read nonetheless and very practical

Green-ish!
I liked the concept of what the Strawbridge's were doing as they started their new 'eco' life in Cornwall. They are doing far more than most. However, some of the 'green' ideas made me cringe a bit. like pouring cosmetics down the loo to dispose of them because they didn't want to use chemical laden products on their skin!! hardly green with that one!otherwise, fairly interesting and an easy read, finished it in two sittings.

easy to read
Interesting, easy to read, "human" in the expectations and results of this journey, I really enjoyed this book. Easy style of writing, will not disturb your sleep, and will provoke you to try a little harder....lots of resource info and gems. Nice book. Thankyou

Too high level
Bought this afternoon watching the first TV episode. Unfortunately this book lacks detail abd not very useful if you've already done some research.

Essential 21st century reading
All the Extinction Rebellion middle class hippies should read this. The title truly says it all, it is very difficult on a personal level to be remotely green.
