She's quite literally either the most ignorant heroine I've come across or she's a mastermind, I'll let you be the judge of that. She goes from one hell to the next and almost by choice if you ask me! I know she's guilt ridden and needs to purge herself of her sins, but she seemed way to laid back for me. Damn, you kidnap me, rape me, beat me... I'm gonna hate your butt and dream of ways to kill you slowly. Not Alex De Luca.... she went back for more. She craved more. She required more to feed her insatiable appetite for destruction! When her walls begin to crumble and her insides feel like they may implode she does the unthinkable, she falls in love, but don't let that mislead you... this is not your typical brand of love. It's so much more! She has burrowed inside my heart and that is where she'll stay until I feel the need to purge her from my system!Now, Rafe... Oh My God Rafe! I loved him from hello! He's irate, he's attractive, he's built like a brick house, and he's one of the hottest pieces of tail I've read in a long long time. AND he's got tattoos... and lots of them. I know I'm shallow, but hell a girls gotta have dreams! Ok... now Rafe! He's out of prison and on the warpath. He's out for blood or more importantly vahjayjay and he isn't taking no for an answer. I love how controlling he is and how he gives what he thinks he got and all this time he's been thriving on a lie. A lie has been fueling his rage, his need to bestow hurt upon the one who bestowed it upon him. He is also a permanent fixture in my heart and will linger in there while I still draw breath!Great supporting character cast. That cellmate, Jax... wow... I love his candor and his demeanor. He seems to be so laid back yet on high alert at all times. It would be nice to see him get a little book of his own. (*wink wink) Now that miserable, jerkface step brother Zach. That piece of crap can rot in hell for all I care. That guy is evil with a capitol E. However, his evilness is what makes this tale that much richer. What would a messed up, filthy, terrifying story be without an excellent villain. Zach is it! To wrap this up, it's provocative, it's terrorizing, and it's brilliant. It was so gripping that I could not put it down for the life of me! The characters were so powerful and the storyline so profound and tragic. The dialogue flows with simplicity and feels exceedingly natural. The pacing is perfect, fast in fact, which I appreciate as I couldn't get submerged into this one fast enough. It's a very dark read and not for the faint of heart. Beware! I loved it and will be telling you all about it's continuation, Rampant very soon.5 Stars cause 10 is not an option!

Holy dark read batman ... this book is HOT!! It has taken me a while but i have officially embraced the dark side and well this book was an excellent read. Can't get anymore taboo then being raped by your step-brother ... oh and getting off on it!!So eight years ago Alex lied ... big time ... she sent a man to prison for something he didn't do. Now Rafe is out and he is looking for revenge.Rafe was sent to prison and lost everything, his shot at a career in the UFC, his friends, his family since father died while he was locked up, and more than anything his grip on right and wrong, good and evil. The entire time he was locked up he only thought of Alex, how he wanted to make her pay, how he simply wanted her period and all the things he wanted to do to her. He has yet to understand why she lied and sent him to prison, but he is free now and he is searching for answers. The only person with those answers is Alex, and he's not letting her go until she spills the truth and maybe not even then."He was just as gorgeous as ever, though his green eyes told me things he didn’t voice.They hinted at how my actions had ruined a good person, because the one before me was anything but."Once Rafe has his hands on Alex he tortures her with nakedness, cold, degradation, and withholding orgasms. Alex withholds the truth from him, she is ashamed of the reasoning behind Rafe ending up in prison. You’re my everything.”This is not an easy read, there were some parts that I will admit were a little hard to get past, but this story is addictive and I couldn't get finished and on to the next book fast enough. I was dying to know how Rafe would react once he knew the truth ... and the ending holy crap on a cracker ... talk about a turn of events ... I can't wait to dive into the next book.

What a powerful story of revenge and love. This is such a page turner. Its riveting as I am now addicted to this story.

So I got this book for free. One of those that they offer hoping to rope you into buying the rest. Well it worked this time. I am very intrigued by the premise of the story, one I haven't read anything similar to before. So there's that. It is definitely very, very dark, and I like dark. So two check marks. This is the first time I have read this authors work, and it seems from the reviews you either really love her books or really hate them. I am not overly impressed yet. There are a lot of holes in the story and unanswered questions. The character development is weak in this first book. But I am going to take a chance and hope the coming books fill in those areas that are lacking. If so, I have found a new author to read. Fingers crossed.

Didn't see that coming. Very well written, none of the smut felt forced and created more then a few nights of me and my other half using a highlighter. Thanks.

This is a dark and yes dirty book, if you have triggers you might not want to read it, one thing I don't like about it is; it has a cliffhanger (my personal pet peeve) all in all this is a fantastic book and I'm excited about the next one 5 stars!

Considering my first time reading a book on this genre, I found it intreasting.. A story that takes you to its world..

Wow! This is definitely a different kind of romance. Very dark and graphic scenes. This was a first read of this author and i loved it. I cannot wait to read more from her and more of this series.

Inoltre entrambi hanno subito traumi forti nel corso degli anni, che hanno alterato la loro percezione della sessualità: Rafe adora il controllo, mentre Alex adora essere brutalizzata.Ho dato quattro stelle per la trama in sè, dove viene evidenziato una sorta di sindrome di Stoccolma tra i due protagonisti, e per è stato scritto il libro.Il finale riserva grandi sorprese e lascia aperto uno spiraglio per una continuazione.
