Great for older
Fast shipping as always. Buying for a toy drive so hoping to give a kid time off the phone, tablet or computer. Always buy for older kids since people seem to forget them.

A fun project for kids
I got these for something for the kids to do. My 8 yo is very mechanically inclined and has already discovered even more bots to make. My 5 yo needed help but enjoys it. My only real complaint is the directions are a bit vague and the wires in the diagram looked like they were one way but were supposed to be the other leading to us having to figure out how it should have been. Small issue but something to be aware of. I'm very happy for the money. The prime day deal was great and they are enjoying them. Nice fun toy to enrich little builders.

Cool starter build
Got this fory nephew, he likes to try and build and learn new stuff. He was definitely entertained. The performance is on par with it being solar, not going to win races but is fun to build. I'd say a good age range would be 6-10. Guess it depends on the child too though. Was not missing any pieces. Hope this helps. I would buy it again maybe a different model or a different machine.

The price was right.
I got this for my grand daughter for Christmas cause she love's building things like this. I love the fact it's solar power so no battery to fail or die. Plus she can build so many of them with 1 kit. I will do another review after she get's it.

Don’t buy it
My child is interested in robotics. If it had worked as expected, it would have been a really exciting first build for him. Unfortunately, the solar panel is either too weak or a dud. So, we bypassed it and used a triple A battery. That worked to power it, but the gears kept locking up for no reason that we could figure out. They weren’t hung up on anything. I am not mechanically inclined, but my husband is and he looked it over. He thinks the motor is too weak, and I don’t doubt that, but I’m no expert myself. All I can say for sure is that the panel did not work in direct sunlight. If both the panel and the motor are trash, well, there goes the main selling point right out the window.Sadly, it’s too late to return it. I wish we’d never wasted money on it. In the future, we plan to do a build from scratch so we can control the quality of the parts involved. My advice: Don’t buy it. If building something yourself from scratch is too daunting, look for something in a higher price range. Make sure it has better reviews than this item. I took a chance because of the price, but that was obviously a mistake. Learn from my error.

Get out your magnifying glass very small pieces
I doubt an 8 year old could handle the frustration of the incredibly tiny pieces. You need excellent natural light, a very patient older child. Wires are close to 48 gauge and hard to pick up. Be sure to take breaks to rest your eyes and avoid melt downs. There may be hundreds of pieces but you will lose them quickly if someone bumps the table and then you won't be able to see them on the floor. Very exasperating. A 2.5" robot is pretty tiny. The other robots seem to be bigger. I will repost after several of them are put together.

This is an excellent toy for five and up

Easy instructions but too hard to assemble
The instructions and parts are very easy to follow and put together. However, some parts are very hard to squeeze through even for an adult and the solar panel is so weak that it can only harnest adequate power from direct sunlight and will not work with any indoor house lights

An honest review...
The instructions for this bot are Terrible! Very frustrating for a 8 yr old to try and decipher. You can find a detailed assembly of this bot on YouTube, this is how he was able to build him not with the instructions that came with. Overall the solar power doesn't work great a battery is most definitely required to operate this bot. Kinda disappointing, annoying to assemble and then it doesn't deliver on the solar power🤦🏼♀️

Worst product, waste of time and money
I bought this for my kid. The quality of the product is very low, they break easily. Don’t waste your money on this cheap item. Better buy something from a physical store after you touch and feel it.
