Innovation and tradition share equally deep roots at SCARPA, a muti-generational, family-owned business whose headquarters and manufacturing facilities are in the same region of northern Italy where it was founded in 1938. SCARPA builds performance footwear for climbing, hiking, skiing, mountaineering, trail-running and other outdoor pursuits. Aside from being the Italian word for "shoe," SCARPA is an acronym for Societa Calzaturiera Asolana Riunita Pedemontana Anonima (Associated Shoe Manufacturing Company of the Asolo Mountain Area).

Great boot, unhappy customer.
I have purchased this brand before. The fit, for me, is perfect and it is consistent. I wear a woman's 8.5W and go to the mens boot to get the width. A size 40 is perfect length in both men's and women's sizes. Good hardware, well constructed, I am well pleased with the boot. The pricing is another matter. I bought them last week, wore them outside today, and came in to write a positive review only to discover the price had dropped $45.00 I would have returned them if they had not been worn, that is just too much.

Great boot for all occasions.
This is a very good boot. I have peripheral neuropathy that demands great shoes and boots. This is my second pair of Scarpas, the other is a low cut dressier pair with wider room at the ball of my foot that fits perfect.

Favorite boots
I love these boots. I bought them at a hiking store, not on Amazon, but they're the same ones. Warm in the winter, good traction on ice/snow for hiking my local hills, lightweight enough for city walking. I put 100 miles on them during a week in Paris. Very comfortable.

Very comfortable shoes, runs small.
Buy them a half size larger than you usually wear and they will be the most comfortable shoes ever.

good value
Bought to replace my ageing Cyclones. Virtually the same boot. Up half aside as usual but fit like a glove.
