I was very impressed when I got the 24 pin version so I ordered the 9 pin as well. The 24 pin is great for connecting a monitor to my laptop. At home I connect a 34 inch display, and when traveling I have a 17" portable monitor. The connection is secure and ignores the occasional slight jostling. Also, even though the portable monitor has a power block, I'm able to power it just fine with the usb cord at 1920x1080 display at full brightness.The 9 pin I use when traveling because I don't want to carry the wireless charger, it is just one more thing to pack.It does a good job of maintaining connection when I use the phone while charging. It does break contact more often than the 24 pin, but it has less surface area so that is to be expected.I see people complaining about the price, but a careful shopper gets what they pay for. Also, too many cheap products on amazon are made by cheap companies have the lowest standards and drop off the planet when the complaints come rolling in. I'd rather pay a little more and know my product will not need to be replaced soon. (unless I lose it)Don't get the 24 pin if you only want to charge your phone. The 20 pin is also more than if you need if just charging a device. But if you you want to connect an external display, this 24 pin connector is great.

This thing worked totally fine for me. Plugging my mac into my ultrawide monitor is now as convenient as a magnetic click. Couple things to note... You're going to want something to hold the cable in place if you're running an official apple adapter to an external monitor. Otherwise the cable is going to move too much / the apple adapter cable isn't long enough to not twist off the magnetic adapter. Now why apple didn't build an all in one magnetic USB-C external display adapter themselves with a longer cable? Who the hell knows. It's apple. They're great and they also suck.Personally, I'd recommend these cable holders for the job. The main benefit to this particular adapter is in the external display support. Not all magnetic adapters are created equal. If you just want a magnetic power adapter, there's lots to choose from with a smaller footprint. If you ALSO need to power an external display, you're going to need an adapter that supports data not just power (such as this one) which unfortunately tend to be larger footprint.As the photos suggest, this thing is branded. Normally i'd take a star away for that because I explicitly tried to buy one without branding, and the photos therefore don't match... but given the overwhelming negative reviews here, I feel personally obligated to leave it at 5 to offset other people's unwarranted negative opinions. The thing works. At the end of the day, it does what I bought it to do.

I bought this to connect a CalDigit TS3 dock to my MacBook Pro. It seems to work as designed for charging and data. However, it doesn't communicate through the TS3 dock with my older Apple Thunderbolt display, which itself requires an Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 dongle to connect to modern Macs (a huge failure for Apple customers).This magnetic connector does pass video to the monitor with the Apple dongle if you use a dedicated Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C port). But, unfortunately, the two ports are too close together to use two of these magnetic connectors, defeating the purpose for my specific use case.The magnets are not as strong as I'd reliably need to prevent the adapter from separating with slight jars. That's not really a problem for power alone. It is, however, when the ports are connected to external drives that can be damaged if they are not ejected fully before disconnecting the cable.Overall, it seems like a good product, so I'm giving it four stars. It is not a magic bullet for all situations, and I'm not sure whether that's the manufacturer's error or a limitation created by Apple.

I got this to go with a cable for oculus quest goggles. the price of this piece was almost twice the price of the 6 foot cable. I thought it was very pricey. The magnet seemed to hold ok.. but it is not full proofit could torque off by twinting. I never got a chance to test it for the data thorough put . I saw there were similar adaptors at lower prices. This one promoted itself as high bandwidth up and down capabiliy. I never was able to test it for that. it is made of metal with a nice chrome like finish and seems like sturdy design.. it has some weight to it. I was only able to use it for charging oculus quest 2 headset. ANd it seemed to do that fine. I used it as a data cable to move files to and from the headset. That seemed to work ok. later i seemed to have trouble with my pc or my other pc from recognising the headset withen usin gthe cable.

I recently bought an extra long heavy duty USB C charging cable for my laptop. Seeing how inflexible it is, I decided to try this connector out to keep from breaking the port. When it arrived I was a little disappointed in its appearance - not exactly as the photos show, but I plugged it in anyway, and it works. Kinda. Apparently my heavy duty cable is a little too heavy for this thing, and it liked to disconnect a lot. Well, one time it sort of half disconnected and the outer half rotated, still half connected by one magnet. It managed to short a few of the pins and suddenly my laptop was flashing a blue screen, then the lock screen, then black... back to blue, black, reboot. All in the matter of half a second or so. Then I came to discover that the USB C port the connector was plugged into only half works now. The charging cable and USB hub and LAN adapters will only connect to the laptop on that port in one orientation! The USB C port on the other side of the laptop doesn't have this issue, and everything works plugged in either way. So if you buy this, which I don't really recommend, make sure to use a lightweight cable that will not tax the magnets of the connector, lest you end up with one half-fried USB C port or worse.

This magnetic USB-C charger is awful. Its cannot do 100w of charging and 10Gbp/s speeds. Perfecto aditamento. Yo estaba acostumbrado a la mac con su cargador magneto y me acostumbre a levantarme con la compu y que el cable se despegue solo, es ideal.

Avec le Macbook M1, difficile voir impossible de connecter 2 écrans en Displayport, et oui!J'ai un Dock Dell + HUB 9 en 1 Selore & S-Golbal, les 2 matériels permettent de connecter les 2 écran en DP.Et pour éviter de débrancher la prise USBC du HUB, j'ai opté pour cet adaptateur USBC femelle/male aimanté.Et la magie fait son show!A acheter sans hésiter ;)
