Q: When I put my quick filter on my powerhead 50 it does not let it shoot bubbles out anymore. Anyone know how to fix this?

The filter does impede the flow of the powerhead, and the bubbler adapter for the powerhead relies on the high flow of the water to suck air down from the surface. Adjust the bubble knob to get the most airflow possible, make sure the filter is set to the highest flow setting, and ensure that the entire assembly is not too far beneath the surface to draw air down to the outflow. Also make sure the filter is not clogged; a clogged filter will impede water flow from the powerhead far more than a clean one will. It can be rinsed clean several times before the filter media needs to be replaced.

Q: Where do i buy replacement mesh?

Here on Amazon, you can buy one or multi packs. They also wash out quite well.

Q: Should the open end be towards the top or the bottom

The user is asking if the open end of the insert that the filter material is on should be open end up or down. The clear plastic mesh tube that holds the filter material in place has an open end and a closed mesh end. I put the insert in with the closed mesh end up.
