Works as intended.
This was the first time using one of these and I was a little worried about it not fitting the threads properly. I had to purchase a tap handle from my auto parts store in order to use the tap and once I did, it cleared all the stuck metal that was in the original bolt hole. The new bolt screwed in nice and smooth.

Remain Calm and Retread
used to retread a bolt hole that I completely destroyed out of rage. After the tears dried I went to amazon and found this little tool that made me rethink my life for a few days. Once it came I slowly inserted the tap to chase the cross threaded hole and some drill chill and 5 min later i entered a fresh bolt and it went in flawlessly. Never again will I make such a foolish mistake.Story.Was replacing a lower ball joint on a 2015 Lexus GS350 and I ordered some of the cheapest pieces of crap on a popular auction site. Once they arrived I tried to force them in the control arm and drive link and after about an hour of fighting and cursing I finally got them to sit some what flush. I started to thread one and it went in ok. Then the next bolt was sitting a little crooked so i figured if I torqued it a little it would thread in. Big Mistake. Turns out the holes the joint thread slide through where too short and where not sitting flush on the knuckle/spindle correctly. No matter how hard I fought it it sat on the knuckle and not flush with the hole. So i said "f" it and torque the hell out of it. Needless to say it didn't work. So here I am.

Cleans up threads nicely
Used this to clean up some threads on some suspension components in a car. Did a great job, good tool that is well made. Be sure to use lots of lubricant or cutting fluid.

worked as expected
I used this item to fix a stripped crankshaft on a 1.8 1994 Mazda Miata. It worked beautifully. I used a t handle from harbor freight item #97633 as the t-handles available with 2 days shipping on amazon did not carry good reviews. This tap shipped quickly, looks to be well made and made a clean cut.

Great to have in the tool box for me
This tap was exactly what I needed. I wrench on all my cars for nearly all the maintenance. I upgraded to an air impact recently and proceeded to cross thread 3 subframe bolts nearly immediately. After I got done cursing at myself, I did a little searching and found the proper tap to rethread the holes. It was very easy work: add some lube, work it back and forth until it could go all the way in...you know the drill. I had the holes repaired in no time and the same tap will be useful on many parts of my subaru.

Poor quality
Used to clean up a damaged wheel hub thread, using cutting oil. Tool cutting edges deformed on first attempt, poor quality.
