Forespar MF 840 Vented Loop - 1-1/2"

I purchased this to connect this to some white 1 1/2" flexible reinforced hose which I bought at a local hardware store to use for sewer piping on my houseboat. Upon actually connecting the flex-hose to the vented loop, I found that the loop connection was quite a bit smaller and would have fitted a 1 1/4" flex-hose much better. I checked with the vendor to see if possibly I had ordered or gotten the wrong vented loop but everything checked out correctly and what I got was supposed to be the 1 1/2" loop. Long story short, I could not get this work with the 1 1/2" flex-hose I'd purchased. However, the loop appeared to be of good quality and I'm sure would have worked great would I have been able to use it.
