This shampoo is awesome - I love it to keep my hair lighter between salon appointments. My hair used to be blonde, but as I've gotten older, it has steadily gone darker (which is such a bummer!) This product helps keep my. hair closer to what it used to be and it smells good too. My friend (who is a brunette) used it once by accident & it brightened her color as well. She actually started purchasing it as well because she loved the effect. I highly recommend it for anyone who likes a lighter blonde color.

I'm a guy with blond hair and I've been using this shampoo for more than a month, using no other lightening products (I style my hair with coconut oil - so I don't use conditioner). I wanted a little bit lighter color without needing to use any bleach products. This product works great for me and my hair is now a couple of shades lighter, but here are some tips for those who are considering buying:1. This product will probably only work if you have hair that bleaches lightly naturally in the sun. If you have dark hair that doesn't lighten naturally when exposed to a lot of sunlight, this product probably won't work for you. Also if you have dyed hair, your results will vary. The chemical reaction will depend on the kind of dye you used. If you used on dyed hair, you're experimenting with your hair (which is okay - just know you're doing so).2. This product basically works by being a strong acid. I can imagine this causing irritation for some people. However it's definitely much more gentle than hair bleach. If I had regular dandruff I would probably avoid.3. To get the best results, you need to expose your hair to this product as long as possible. Put this in your hair first thing when you get in the shower, then use some water to rinse your face and forehead only, to keep it from running into your eyes. Keep it in your hair for the rest of the shower, rinsing only at the end. If it's only in your hair for 30 seconds, you won't get much results from it, versus 5-10 minutes if it's in your hair the whole time. If you use the lightening conditioner, I would follow this same method, but switch to the conditioner half way, again leaving it in for as long as possible.4. This shampoo is concentrated! I only need about half as much as other shampoos. I love that the top encourages you to only use a little bit. This will last 2x the time of most other shampoos, but as it's about 2x the cost you come out even, with the lightening effect to boot!Great product, understand its limitations!

Haven’t noticed my ash blonde hair getting much lighter, but it does make my hair look a bit brighter and less dull. Smells amazing and the scent of the citrus and chamomile is really calming (I like to put it on in the bath and let it sit for a while). Makes my hair softer and a little fuller.

Love this shampoo. I have white hair but I still think of myself as blond . This shampoo tones down the white so it looks a tiny bit golden.

I used to buy this stuff at CVS or Target or Rite Aid, but they all stopped selling it. So I was glad it was still available at Amazon, and actually for cheaper than the sale price at CVS. I’m a former Golden-blonde, whose hair would turn completely blonde over summer break. Since about 5th grade I’ve had light to medium brown hair, that def gets highlights easily in the sun if I’m out enough, but since I’m working and no longer get a summer break, alas, I use this plus the spray-on John Freida stuff. It seems to be modestly helpful, but I’m sure if I ever coughed up the money to get my hair colored in a salon I’d get a much better effect. Still, it does something, and unlike other reviewers I have not noticed any hair damage or dryness since I started using this— that said, my hair is not color-processed, is thick and grows quickly, and is def not on the dry side to begin with, so I have that on my side. So, yeah, maybe I’m delusional in thinking it helps lighten/highlight my hair, but in any case I like it enough to keep buying the stuff bc it feels like it does *something* to lighten/brighten my hair, without damage, and without the high cost of a salon dye job in my neck of the woods.

I have been using this product fro several years and it is amazing!! You do not have to use it everyday to allow your hair to become a brighter blonder color. It kept my hair healthy and blonde. It smells good and works like magic !! Highly recommend .

When Redken Blonde shampoo changed formulas it left my hair dingy and mousy blonde. I tried Sexy's Blonde Bombshell purple shampoo and the same result. I ONLY get the results of natural blonde with John Frieda's /sheer Blonde. You will be so glad you got it. The shampoo and conditioner may left your hair a bit dry but swapping out with a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner on a day where you are not out to impress will get your lovely locks silky. Fabulous product. It's getting a bit expensive but it will do what you are looking for...natural blonde bombshell!
