Worth it is an understatement
I read the entire book in 24 hours. It is filled with humor, heartfelt moments, and life lessons. I am not one to read, but being a huge Loni fan I gave it a try. With that being said, if the book was awful I would honestly say so. It was easily one of the best purchases I've made in a very long time. Especially in today's world I needed an escape and some relaxation. This book was just that, and then some. Found myself laughing out loud several times. I initially wanted to read a little here and there and have the book last me a bit. Before I even noticed I was over halfway through it without taking a single break. I can barely read a recipe without getting annoyed and just watching a video, but the book is just so damn good. Treat yourself!

Humbling, Humorous and Insightful
I loved this memoir, from that table of contents—a classic, to the Intro, check; followed by the happenings in Brewster-Douglass Housing Projects, to Hollywood. Loni makes her hard start, and challenging (at times) journey fun to read, not that this was her job to do. Told in an organized, clear, engaging manner this work is simply a MUST. Absolutely beautiful! Highly recommended!!!

Funny, Entertaining and Humbling!
I preordered this book in May before it was released because I really wanted to support my girl Loni Love! I love watching her on The Real and I think she’s super talented and funny as hell!I finally got around to reading it and I am not surprised, I absolutely loved the book! True to the cover and synopsis, life lessons are in full effect. Love also takes us on a journey from her childhood growing up in the projects, all the way to the present of winning a Daytime Emmy with her cohosts of The Real. She includes hilarious snippets like her wig falling off in the ocean, that will cause you laugh out loud and many many more! Definitely a good read and highly recommend!

Enjoyable read
Read this book during the pandemic and really enjoyed it. With everything that is going on in the world right now this book takes you away from it if only for a short time. I never knew the struggles that Loni went through to get to where she is, if that had been me I'm not sure where I would be today. Her use of humor in this book is refreshing and it's amazing to see how a person can overcome all obstacles. The only thing I have to say that may be a little negative is between chapter 8 and 9 I thought I had missed some pages by mistake as it seemed to jump but other than that I really enjoyed this book and wish it had been longer. Would recommend :)

LOVE LOVE LOVE this book!!!
I can relate to Loni Love so much because I’m from Detroit, I grew up in the 70’s-80’s like she did and I’m sure we know a lot of the same people because she attended Cass HS and I have lots of friends who graduated in 1988 and 1989 as she did. My parents grew up in the same projects and I was raised as a JW as well. I can relate to her book so much and I’m enjoying every single chapter so much that I also purchased the audiobook in which she is the narrator. In light of what poor black people have had to endure over the many years....Loni Love really keeps it real on all levels!!! I have a lot of respect for her and admire how she made it out of the projects in Detroit. I give her book 5+ stars easily and hope that she’ll choose to write another book someday. Hopefully, she’ll read my review because she needs to know how much I’ve really enjoyed reading her book. Keep up the good work Loni!!

Very inspiring
I really liked this book. Although it was a story about her life, it wasn’t a “documentary”. It was told as a story which made the reading enjoyable. Her story is also very inspiring. She struggled but never gave up and did eventually overcome and find success and true happiness.

A page turner and laugh out loud-er!
It’s so good to see someone’s story from the start to the current because I sometimes get caught up comparingmy start to someone else’s middle you know? I love Miss Loni and this gave me a lot of hope and shed the truth about God’s hand in my life by seeing the way He’s worked in Miss Loni’s. I love you Miss Loni if you’re reading this! Looking forward to more! xx - Priya from Ireland

Easy read that made me appreciate Loni a lot more
Pros- As someone who's watched Loni on The Real since 2013/2014, it was an eye opening experience to read about her childhood. I knew she grew up in the projects but I didn't know the details, especially when it comes to her difficult relationship with her mother.- I love those little point form notes that were thrown in here and there throughout the book. Those were funny to read and kept the book refreshed.- Each chapter was easily digestible and had a good message to take from.Cons- I wish there were more chapters dedicated to her career in the 2010s. Would love for her to expand on her experience on Chelsea Lately or Ellen.- The dedicated chapter on the Real was good but again, I felt it was too short. I understand she didn't want to say too much without mentioning Tamar but I would love it if she told more BTS stories that we've never heard about before.Overall reviewAny fan of Loni's would find this book an enjoyable read. It's short, sweet and helped me understand Loni a whole lot more. Most importantly, I always thought Loni had always put up a wall and masked her true self behind this public comedienne persona she puts out there and reading this book made me understand why she had to do it.
