Best Jungle Boots on the Market
These are the best Vietnam Jungle Boots on the market, in my opinion. Best quality and well worth the money. Comfortable, durable, and sharp looking. Don't waste your money on the cheaper alternatives if you actually plan on wearing these boots often. I'm proud that these boots are made in Mt. Gilead, NC. Support US businesses and buy McRae Boots. Order 1 size smaller than what you normally wear and you should fit in these fine.

Nice but shiny
Awesome boots. I ordered a size down and they fit perfectly. Only thing I didn’t like was they are crazy shiny.. Bought some 3-D leather cleaner and it dulled them up just like the original finish on the first release legacy boot.

McCrae is the best combat boot I've found
They look and fit exactly like the Real Thing, from when I was in the Army, except they have a better sole than the slippery thing a GI boot has. It's hard to get 8 wide in any shoe, and I spent years looking for something that fit me as well as a standard combat boot does. I gave up years ago when I stumbled upon McCrae. If you want what you had in the military, you've found it. I only bought these to have a second pair; my last pair is on the order of four years old and they're still going strong, which is also what I expect from a boot and never got from any other company, and believe me I tried a number of them. If I could get more than year from a set of (more expensive) other boots I was lucky. So this boot looks right, it fits right, and it lasts right. McCrae. It's just right.

Mostly great, QC problem on mine though
I've been wanting a pair of US made jungle boots for a long time now and just couldn't justify the cost. I finally broke down and ordered these, and for the most part, they're everything I hoped they would be. The quality of the leather is phenomenal. It's thick, high quality, supple and smooth. The fit is a little large, but that's perfect for what they are and to be expected. The only real problem I had was that the leather was abraided all the way around the sole. In places nearly an inch of leather was abraided and actually has slices in it. I suspect this is some problem that occurred during the vulcanization process. It only seems to be a problem on one boot, the other one isn't nearly as bad. I should have probably sent them back, but I'm sick of going without and it's an hour drive to the closest place that does Amazon returns, so I'll just deal with it. I've been wearing them for a week now and they're breaking in good and seem comfortable.

Great Boots
These boots (olive drab) remind me of the jungle boots that I was issued back in my military days. Well made right here in the USA. They do run big as is typical. I wear a 9W and I ordered down one whole size (8W) per the instructions and they fit perfectly. Just a little extra room for my toes when wearing boot socks. I wear these all day at work and they are very comfortable. I didn't even have to change out the insoles. I hope they last as long as my original pair did. The only thing that I will do to these boots is rub down the canvas with Otter Wax and give the leather a coat of black polish.A few points of interest:1 - These do not have the spike protection that the original boots had.2 - No Goodyear Welt so resoling them may be a challenge.3 - 2 pairs of eyelets at the bottom and 5 pairs of speed laces at the top make them a bit easier to put on.

Good quality and fit.
These fit me good. I got a size 9 E, and I have enough room for insols and wool socks. They are a bit rough inside on the wool socks, so I advise better insols than what comes with the boot. I've had these for a few weeks and they are still breaking in but I don't wear them every day. You'll have some breaking in but they are good boots and they seemed to fit better than Altama, which seem to always run too long. For classic style and durability, it's a good buy. This is all subjective to me, but I've tried Altama and McRae, and the only reason I chose these is that they were available in the size I need, and fit really good. I suggest you go down a size or even a size and a half. Buy two sizes and try them both and send back the ones you don't want.

McRae size discrepancies
On the left side of the photo is a 10w and on the right side is suppose to be a 9.5 wide but feels like a 9.5 regular. In the military I wore these at an 11w and fit like a glove w/ No hot spots No slipping of the heel No Jamming of the toes and no Jamming or scrunching of the pinky Toe when kneeling wear the toe cap begins. Also the top of the toe cap area was more round and not so flat.Upon buying them 16yrs later sizes have been labeled and changed dramatically. This is disappointing because McRae is the Last company In the U.S. making them and not outsourced yet.I have initially ordered the 11w from the website and they fit like a 13 . Then ordered multiple sizes on Amazon. This displays there is an inconsistency within production.

Best jungle boots on the market
Had a pair of these in the Marines and they were great. I work on rivers and streams constantly wading through water. These are the best boots for draining water and are rugged. Made in America. The leather is soft and polishes easily to a high gloss.
