Great series for equestrians
My daughter is always looking for a new series to read and this was a great find. I had not heard of the series prior but thrilled sheβs taken to it as she has. Many equestrian based series are a bit advanced for young readers but this one seems to have a more relatable storyline for her. She is 12 and an avid rider.

Good series - with a dose of mean girls and good girls
My daughter has "graduated" from Pony Pals and Pony Days, Magic Ponies and Magic Pony, etc, but not yet ready for some of the older series. She is in 4th grade and around an RL 5.6, so we wanted more challenging but not grown up. The manager at Barnes and Noble recommended Book 1 to her and she read it and was hooked, so we got the rest of the series for her for Christmas. She is on book 5 and I imagine, since it a new series, that the books will retain resell value, although she plans to keep this series to re-read again whenever she wants to. The nice and not-so-nice thing about this series is that it does deal with real life bullying, mean girl and social issues, which is a big step from the fluffier children's pony books of 1st-3rd grade that she was reading, but since she has had to deal with some issues at riding school, she likes to bury herself in these books as a way to unwind. I like that she talks to me about what is happening in the books.

I loved this book because I am a die hard horse lover and when I first read Take the Reins I was in love an so when I saw they had more well it was kinda a given that I was going to get it along with the next two. But if you haven't already read take the reins I would read that one first. And sample it first if you aren't so sure! ππ΄

Good Book
Daughter loved this book and would highly recommend to any other young adult reader. But she is on to more challenging books.

Story of ny life
I liked this one a lot better than the first (no offence to the people who liked the first one better) but it I really liked this one the same thing happened to me when I was in fifth grade and someone decided to make my crush thair "boyfriend"

Better Than Take The Reins
I was really worried after reading Take The Reins that this book was going to be just as bad or worse. But, thank God, it wasn`t. Jessica Burkhart`s horse related mistakes are much fewer this time around, but her writing style still rubs me the wrong way. For one, she sounds more like she`s typing up an e-mail than a book, and the storyline is inconsistant and jumps from subject to subject without much explanation. All the more interesting parts are much too short, so most of the book revolves around Sasha becoming obsessed with her crush and jealous because she thinks he likes Heather. Which might have been more interesting if it had been better executed.
