Onguard Bulldog Combo DT-8012C Combo Shackle Lock

One word of warning. This is an excellent lock but remember to maintain it by oiling and greasing it. I went to unlock mine recently and it jammed. I tried everything from WD40 to hammers, screwdrivers the lot. Eventually as a testament to the lock I had to get a locksmith to use a heavy duty angle grinder to cut through it. It was outside a supermarket so if a thief tried this approach the sparks and noise would alert anyone! It was my fault as it was attached to my bike frame so it did not occur to me to think that constant exposure to the elements would be a problem .Another tip WD40 will remove all existing oil and grease so remember to clean it first with WD40 then use the oil and grease. Hopefully this will prevent another lock up as I assume it was not a defect by the makers as I have two and the second one is OK..

Update: (1 month) The lock has deteriorated quickly. The silver cap on one end that allows you to set the combination has fallen off during a ride. The open latch is terribly difficult to work and frequently relocks after I have opened (it was difficult to start with and now it's a daily frustration). Would not recommend this to anyone.This U lock is solid and the combination dial works well but the unlock latch is very difficult to work. I ordered it because I don't like to carry a small key and for the option of using a cable to lock both wheels. Both those needs are met, although the Ulock by itself is large enough to go through my front wheel and bike frame at the same time. The problem I have with it is the unlocking latch feels like it is placed backwards. After dialing the code the user must open the log by pushing the latch. The direction of push and the slope of the latch are not compatible. Diagram push→⊿latch. the slope does not help. I have to dig my nails into the small tip in order to open it. Would be much better if it is placed like this →◺. The other issue is that after it is unlocked and the latch is open it closes on its own very easily so I have to struggle opening it multiple times.

Certainly strong and tough for a thief to break or dismantle, but not the easiest to handle and it is noticeably heavy. I clip mine onto my rucksack when commuting to work and I really noticed the extra weight on my back.Unless you have lots of space around your bike when you lock it up, it can be very tricky to move around and fix in place. Locking it up against a wall or in a busy bike park/shed can be fiddly and frustrating. Getting the digits on the dial on exactly the correct alignment to release the metal bar can be really annoying, as other reviewers have mentioned.It sounds like I have more negatives than positives, but I'd rather have something this strong and heavy securing my bike than a cheaper weaker one!

This is a heavy duty (and I mean heavy) bike lock that's easy to programme with your number combination and looks to be stronger than Arnold. The extra heavy duty wire cable is a nice touch too, going through your wheels or locking two bikes together, say.The lock attaches to your bike frame with a neat clip-on gizmo, but this wouldn't attach to one (full suspension) bike that doesn't have any circular tubes in its construction (only ellipses). But the best bit is the way this brightly coloured lock yells at thieves BACK OFF, and says it with visual authority.

This is a brilliant lock. It's a bit too heavy to carry on the supplied bracket, so I have it strapped to my rear carrier. The combination is very easy to set. Just make sure that it's something you'll remember easily. I use the year I married the love of my life. And Mrs Sunshine will never let me forget THAT! And being such a bright colour, it lets the bad guys know not to bother.

Even though this lock is a bit heavier it is at least big enough to lock your frame and one wheel to any bike stand; most other locks I had were simply too small for that; the attachment for the bike doesn't really work for me as the lock itself is too big to fit it anywhere around my bike frame (wasn't able to paddle properly with it on the frame of my bike) but I usually carry it in my bag or around my front handle;

This lock is really good, not too big, I purchased a separate steel cable to tie 2 bikes together using this lock and it does the job well.My only issue is, I have thick fingers and using the end dials to set the number is a bit tricky.

Poor quality product. The button to open the lock jammed after 4 weeks use. Completely inoperable. Have had to bin due to just missing the 4 week return window. I have a second one which has started to do the same thing.

Hab miitlerweile das 5te gekauft und werde in Zukunft auch noch mehr davon kaufen.+ Bügelschlößer sind allgemein Sicherer und das hier gehört eindeutig in dieses Kategorie. Mindestens ein Dieb hat sich bei mir schon die Zähne ausgebissen beim vergeblichen Öffnen dieses Schlosses.+ Kein Schlüssel erforderlich. Das ist ein SEGEN vor allem wenn man wie ich mehrere Sachen zum Abschließen hat und nicht wie ein Gefängnisswärter mit einem riesigem Schlüsselbund umherwandern will.+ Zahlencode ist einfach zu sehen und auch einfach zu drehen selbst mit Handschuhen gut zu öffnen. Der Code lässt sich leicht und Schnell anpassen.+ Gutes Halterungssystem inklusive.+ Guter Preis ca. 22 €- etwas schwer zu bekommen. Kaum einer denkt an die Vorteile eines ZahlenschlossesFazit: Wer ein Sicheres Schloss sucht bei dem man kein Schlüssel braucht und das noch Günstig ist, der ist hier genau Richtig!Update nach vielen Monaten benutzung:Nochmals hat sich ein Dieb an dem Schloss vergeblich die Zähne ausgebissen. Er hat das gelbe Plastik am Bügel entfernt. Dachte wohl das dadrunter auch nur Plastik ist aber nix da, massives Metall kamm da natürlich zum Vorschein. Wir wissen nicht wie aber er hat es geschaft den soliden Bereich mit dem Zahlencode etwas zu verbiegen. Außer einem Wagenheber fällt mir da nichts logisches ein was er dafür benutzt haben könnte. Doch auch der Teil hielt seinen Versuchen Stand! Nun lassen sich die Zahlen an dem Schloss schwerer drehen. Ansonsten immer noch Top!Zu dem Thema das es länger dauern soll das Zahlenschloss zu öffnen als eines mit Schlüssel kann ich nur sagen das ich mein Schloss immer Schneller geöffnet und verstaut habe als ALLE anderen! Dinge wie Schlüsselbund aus der Tasche holen, den passenden Schlüssel suchen, Schlüssel ins Schloss fummeln und den Schlüssel danach in die Tasche stopfen fallen bei mir komplett weg!

El cable trensado se puede oxidar si se moja. A menudo tengo que darle unos golpecitos - desde el cierre hacia la U - para poder abrirlo.Recomendable, por seguridad.

-NEGATIVO: -OK, el cable que está incluido es muy dificil de manejar y transportar en la bici y después de una semana intentar llevarlo en la bici lo he dejado en casa. Pero si lo vas a dejar en un sitio con riesgo de robo, la combinación del cable atado a un árbol/mueble urbano y el candado metido por el marco y la rueda y posiblemente también un mueble urbano ningún ladrón va robar tu bici.+/-NEGATIVO/POSITIVO: Pesa un montón y es muy grande!!! El peso significa que esta muy fuerte y el tamaño te da más opciones a la hora de segurar tu bici en la calle.-NEGATIVO: Para montar el soporte para llevarlo en tu bici y no en una mochila recomiendo que pagas 6-10€ para que una tienda de bici lo instale. Yo lo hice mi mismo y no importaba en que parte de la bici intenté ponerlo no quedaba bien. Los chicos en Bici Belga Tienda lo arreglaron y yo no tenía el estrés de ponerlo. Llevo 3 meses llevando el candado en la bici y no ha caído nunca.POSITIVO: No necesitas llave!!! Es muy fácil poner tu propio código de 4 dígitos, cuesta 10 segundos. Y ahora nunca vas a tener que ensuciar las manos peleando con llave y cerradura.POSITIVO: En el barrio donde trabajo hay varias chicos que que me han dado 'enhorabuena' en el candado. Estos son chicos que tienen experiencia en candados y bicis (trabajo en un barrio un poco así).POSITIVO: Se puede ver el candado de lejos, los ladrones odian candados sin llave y en forma de 'D', van a ver tu bici con el candado puesto y van a continuar andando a un blanco más fácil. Solo un maestro de cerraduras o un ladrón con equipaje industrial va intentar romper este candado.Es una pena que tenemos que llevar un candado tan fuerte en bici, pero, si vas a llevar candado no puedes fallar con esto.

El candado es una pasada, tanto el candado como el cable de acero se ven muy robustos muy fuertes, pienso que robar esta bici lo van a tener más complicado,y de eso se trata de complicarle las cosas a los cacos. Eso sí el candado es grande, muy grande en el cuadro de la,bici imposible de instalar, yo en el caso de la bici de mi hijo por la forma de su cuadro no ha habido manera, pero lo he montado en el manillar y ha quedado perfecto y cómodo de sacar y meter en su soporte.

Un candado duro como él solo.El hecho de que lleve combinación y no llave (aunque lo ideal ya sería combinar ambas opciones) lo hace menos atractivo para los ladrones, que ya se tienen que afanar en romperlo, cosa harto difícil si no vas con herramientas industriales.Además, incluye un cable que amplía sus posibilidades de anclaje de la bici, al permitir enganchar el candado a otras partes de esta. El cable también es grueso, y está recubierto de goma para que no se oxide bajo la lluvia.Yo uso el candado para atar la bici cerca de la entrada de la oficina en que trabajo y la veo firmemente anclada, lo que me da mucha tranquilidad. Tal vez compre otro para la rueda delantera.Viene con un soporte que se atornilla en la parte dela bici que más cómoda te resulte, y así puede llevarlo sin necesidad de meterlo en una mochila o en una bolsa en el portabultos o debajo del sillín.Muy recomendable.
