The Peavey Revolution: Hartley Peavey: The Gear, The Company and the All-American Success Story Paperback – Bargain Price, August 1, 2005

I am a peavey fan and this book is a good read and a great addition to my peavey collection.

A really good history of the Peavey company, although at times it reads like an employee trying to suck up to the boss. (and the author DOES acknowledge that it will sound that way.) I liked it and will be buying the book regarding the history of Peavey guitars as well.

Its a good recant of product introductions and plant manufacturing expansions over the years at Peavey Corp, but I really wanted to hear more about Hartley's personal path and anecdotes about his interactions with the musicians he's worked with (Lynyrd Skynrd, etc.)In any case, it was nice to know more about him and his company as I have bought many of their products since the late 70's. Maybe it's time for a new edition (this was published in 2005) that includes developments such as the current dominance of Chinese manufacturing in this market and how they've had to respond - and please add some client musician stories!

For the person who lives, and breathes Peavey. This is a very excellent resource for learning about Peavey, the man, the company, and his amazing, Rock-Solid products. I've owned, and Rocked Peavey gear since the early 80s, am a big fan of all things Peavey. This book, in my opinion, is the ultimate Peavey information resource. Covers from Hartley's beginnings, building by hand the first amps, in the early 60's, through 2004's lineup... Packed full of beautiful full color images of Guitars, Basses, Amplifiers, Speaker Cabs, and PA equipment. Also details about their creation. I really couldn't be happier with it, unless it were expanded to include details on everything they built, and updated, with their current products...

A Good book but it seems to emphasize too much about all the products made but not how the products affected the musicians using them over all the many years. A good read about Hartley Peavey and how he approached business in the old school sense, all business could learn from the Peavey company business design.

I enjoyed this book and it was very educational as far as learning about the great American company and the man behind it. I was hoping for more details on some Peavey products (electric guitars, in particular), and I was disappointed that there wasn't more info on the design and features of some great guitars.

Great insight into the man as well as the company and it's products. Hartley Peavey is one of the great innovators and visionaries in the music field.

Less a biography about Mr. Peavey. and much more enriched history of the company itself and all the products they made over the years.

As I own so many Peavey bass guitars,19 to be precise, I got this book for some background on the company and the manwho have such a large part in my playing.Written as a timeline it covers his life and the growth of Peavey. While it's quite lightweight in content it does quite a good job in conveying just huge large Peavey have become.There's nothing really outstanding in the book but you certainly can't knock Hartley Peavey for what he has achieved.
