Installed this for my high current Adcom 2-channel Amp and Arcam AVR (also high current). I'm not going to claim that it made ANY difference in the sound, because I do not believe it did.However, it did remove any weak link in the chain of equipment AND it provides an amazingly stout physical connection with the prongs of my power cords at a very reasonable price. If anything, the cords/outlet are more child-safe because it takes an absolute man-hand to yank them out of the outlet now. It's an inexpensive way to ensure there are no shorts or poor electrical connections.If anybody can detect a difference between this outlet and another (aside from iso'd-ground outlets), then that indicates there was a material issue with the other outlet (incorrectly terminated/attached wires, broken wire clamp, etc.). Still, excellent quality at an excellent price.

I am in the process of upgrading all the different cables that run my headphone amplifier, DAC and even my computer. One of the last things that I need to upgrade (in my limited budget) is the wall outlet. The Oyaide brand audiophile wall outlets run as high as $150 and other brands run higher than that. I am a BUDGET audiophile and the wall outlet meets my current budget perfectly. It is extremely high grade withsuperb build quality and it looks super professional compared to a regular wall outlet. My friend installed it in a few minutes, just replaced the original outlet and cut open the cutout a bit to make it fit.. While I do have the power running through a UPS system and a line conditioner, I believe that this adds just a touch of class and better sound quality to my setup. Audiophiles will hear things in their heads that even psychiatrists insist are hallucinations but since they sound real to me, I accept them as real. Fi on the shrinks I say! So with my upgraded power cords, silver plated copper USB with gold plated terminations, equally fancy RCA interconnects and custom headphone cable, this inexpensive professional and commercial grade outlet is just what I need to add to my upgrade delusions. Just don't tell Dr. Ilichmann please.

Does the job that $100+ audio power outlets do..., for much more reasonable. If it's good enough for life-support systems in hospitals, it's sure good enough for Audiophile applications

This outlet will grab your plug and hardly let go!!! It is rugged, durable and robust in its' construction. Great for often used plugs and will still hold tight after many years of use. I use to specify this plug for use in industrial building applications. We never had a problem with them.

One of the three outlets I received was defective and would not accept a plug. Disappointed that I paid a premium price for the Leviton brand only to get lousy quality.

Leviton builds quality products and these Hospital Grade HD outlets worked exactly as expected. You will feel the difference the first time you plug something in. I am using these for my audiophile A/V system where every connection needs perfection. I have been suitable impressed.

makes ordinary wall plugs look cheap, i decided to use it on dedicated audio pwr line and i am sure that its just as good as any audio branded unit is. HOSPITAL grade shall surffice. It holds on to my heavy gauge with a death grip ! and if they use it to save lives , im sure it can save plugs.

This is the first hospital-grade outlet I have owned. Happy to say that it has improved the sound of the audio system--the tighter grip on the plug ensures that there is maximum current transfer through the outlet. Well built, sturdy, no complaints!
