PillMatePill Punch, Assorted

I’ve been looking for something like this for ages. Some pills are near on impossible to get out of their packaging. Numerous broken nails later, I found this little beauty. It’s brilliant. I only use the XL size though as it does every pill size, so it’s easier than switching. It’s even good for those pesky little pills. I’ve since recommended it to three other people and they too gave it the thumbs up.

I have purchased many different pill punchers over the years and always been disappointed especially with popping capsules but not this one. I love it. I have not squashed or cracked 1 capsule or broken any tablets and I have to take over 30 tablets and capsules a day. The 4 different sizes are great. The XL one is perfect for capsules and long tablets. You also get 2 trays to catch the tablets you pop. I can't praise it highly enough. I would recommend this to everyone who takes tablets regularly and are fed up getting cuts from opening the blisters for each tablet.

There's nothing really to dislike about this item.I did break a few tablets but I think this is down to "trial and error" and learning just how much pressure I need to put on the punch. In saying that, there are some tablets that just will not be "punched" like my husband's 1mg Warfarin tablets. Didn't matter which way I held the punch or pressure I put on, they broke. Happily, the packaging doesn't usually give me paper-cuts, so not too bothered. The capsules get a bit squashed but c'mon, it's easy enough to pinch them back into their normal shape.I managed to break only about eight tablets (and there was a LOT) but every capsule was intact. Not bad for a first try.I would recommend the Pillmate Pill Punch. Good price too, especially when you compare it to some of the others on sale.

Work well on some pills but not on others. When they do work they are very good. But when they do not work they crush the pills. Do not use on capsules. Be very careful with all pills until you work out which ones it is safe to use them on. I have two sets of pills which I am very happy to use the punches on. I think the same comments would apply to any similar product. It is the nature of the beast.

I usually use the tip of a potato peeler to remove pills from a blister pack but liked the idea of a purpose made remover. I’ve found that all it does is flatten the capsules and break the tablets without actually removing them.

A handy item to have if you have lots of tablets to pop out of the packets

Did not fit all shApes and size pills very fiddly to use. Takes ages to do. Easier to us finger nail

This pill popper is not suitable for anyone with dexterity problems. I found it impossible to use.
