XPLORA X5 Play - Watch Phone for Children (4G) - Calls, Messages, Kids School Mode, SOS Function, GPS Location, Camera and Pedometer - (Subscription Required) (PINK)

Researched several watches for kids. I was even offered T-Mobile's new Timex watch for kids for free by the store rep, but I turned it down for this watch and it hasn't let me down yet. Overall, 5 stars. Can it be better? Yes, in some areas. But it's accurate on tracking, has a step counter that motivates kids through prizes, call quality is pretty good, messaging is easy and their support is very responsive. Most of the negative reviews are people who's carrier doesn't support this watch. If you're on TM it's a no brainer. The watch is arguably the best looking kids watch out there. Not crazy bulky like many of them. It's big for sure, but nothing too obnoxious. My 10 year old loves it. It's a great intro into being connected...without being connected...if you know what I mean.PROS:See above. I gave it 5 stars because it's got pretty much everything I'd want for a kids watch. Honestly, it's great and worth every penny.CONS:(These "cons" will be a bit nit picky...but hey...there's always room for improvement right? And none of these cons are deal breakers. We are VERY happy so far (one month) with our purchase.- Battery indicator on watch should show percentage, not just the icon. It would also be great if there was a low power mode option when it hits 15% so kids can save power until they "need" it.- The step tracker is great, but is slow to update on their app. Their app is great for adding contacts and tracking the location, etc. but sometimes is a bit slow to "update" stuff. I'm not 100% sure how accurate the step tracker is...but it's close enough for a kid.- ALL of the prizes you can get with the coins the kid earns are immediately "out of stock" when the store opens on the weekend. I'm not convinced there's any stock ever of these things. As in...ever.- Would be great if there was more/any documentation on loading music onto the watch etc. There's storage available but not much info on how to add music.- Battery life is okay...but could be better. We get a day out of it...so that's good, but nothing beyond that. I'm guessing the step tracker is to blame so it's an understandable trade-off that we're willing to deal with. I read some people have 2 days battery...not us. But one day is fine.- Wish there was a way to quickly "refresh" the app to see the most up to date location and steps and battery etc...- Proprietary charger. Would be nice if it had wireless charging like Apple or Samsung watches, but I know it's a kids watch so I wasn't expecting that by any means. But it would be nice.Overall, we highly recommend it.

Update: Xplora contacted me, sent me a new SIM card since others too, had had problems, and refunded 3 month’s subscription. Unfortunately, the X5 still doesn’t work. Will update again if Xplora is able to resolve this issue.I purchased the watch for a trip to Disneyland for gps tracking ability/safety reasons. It was an expensive ($170) birthday surprise for my daughter. I should have set it up before the trip, but as it was a gift, I gave it to her and attempted the set it up the night we arrived. I charged the battery and figured set up would be easy allowing her to use the watch once we hit the park. Two frustrating hours later I had FINALLY managed to set up a parent account on my phone, installed the SIM card, added her watch, installed the app…AND PURCHASED A WIRELESS SUBSCRIPTION @11.99 month. All so I could have access to the watch’s gps location, something I had not anticipated.My daughter and husband were anxious to get going so we we were all irritated by this point, but daughter was excited to play with her new watch. The interface was only barely responsive and it took several attempts for her to get it going. This was similar to the quality of something you’d purchase for 14.99. She finally managed to send me an emoji text, but as I had read, actual texts are not possible. She could also text using her voice, and I received notifications on my phone I had a message, but I was not able to retrieve the messages. She kept trying it in ride lines all day, but eventually got tired of sending me emojis, which was all the watch was able to do. Not that I could actually get them. I was so sad her exciting birthday gift was such a frustrating disappointment.I didn’t want to spend another day at Disneyland trying to update passwords and following other self help instructions so I told her I would spend some time fixing it once we got back home. She’d been so excited since many of her school friends already had watches. Lucky them, their parents bought them the cheap watches that actually work as they are intended to!!I work full time and hate dealing with electronics so fast forward to today, when after several frustrating attempts over the course of the year I have tried in vain to charge the thing and get it to work. I’m officially done. I am canceling the subscription and considering the $300 I’ve spent on this enough!! It is slow, unresponsive, says it doesn’t come with games, but the app is all about games they can’t apparently play on the watch, and I CANNOT GET HER MESSAGES or TRACK the watch!!!

We got this for my daughter starting kindergarten. She will be riding the bus and we wanted to able to track her without giving her access to a cell phone. This is perfect as it is super easy to use. I add the contacts from my phone via app. It also tracks her steps, has text message, and camera (which is her favorite part as a 5 yr old!)Very easy for her to call mom and dad if she needs us. Even better we, as her parents can make sure she is safe and where she needs to be. In the event of an emergency she can easily dial us.We used the nanosim card included in box. We set up and paid the additional $5 thru speedtalk for gps and data for a month! Perfect for smartwatch coverage.Thank you for making a watch easy and functional that keeps my mama heart I'm check knowing my baby is safe!Super easy to set up. It's size of a normal watch face which is nice and easy to see display. Touch screen is easy to use.

El producto podría ser más o menos bueno, aún cuando es MUCHO más caro que otras opciones similares, el problema es que NO está diseñado para México. El vendedor de Amazon solo dice que sí funciona en México, pero que ellos no pueden ayudarnos en nada, que hay que contactar a la marca. Y al contactar a la marca, dicen que ellos no venden en Mexico porque NO funciona aquí.Finalmente la marca accedió a ayudarme a registrarme en la app, pero no me garantiza el correcto funcionamiento del reloj. Y de hecho no funciona correctamente.Decidí devolverlo, a ver si no es también una pesadilla eso.

I bought the watch before couple of days. Couldn't give my review before testing it. I live in the GTA. This watch needs a phone number to work as it should be. So, when u go to any comapny ex rogers, bell and etc. They would tell you, oh i can sell u a plan or pay as u go but its not gonna work. Unfortunately, the employees dont know anything about this watch and mostly will offer you something related to apple. I went to Telus and bought pay as u go $15.00 100 minutes to call out , unlimited to call my son. Text is unlimited . Its actually good enough. GPS won't work without a data plan. I did choose this watch bc my son cant access to youtube or social media. I can control the 50 contacts , see who did call . My son loves it. Battery life like any phone depends on the ling of use, so can stay 2-3 daya or finish in oneday if ur kid would download vedios or songs. Very easy to use. Any more questions , glad to help.I am here Sep 13, 2022 and my son is still using this watch. We are very happy with the watch and no complaints so far. Love how much this watch gives a peace of mind when we are out in a playground, wonderland or regular visits. The whole idea about this watch is your kid will not have to social network , have school mode which you can block him from calling in or out during school hour and will be as a normal watch. Kids can't use vedio or record during safe mode. Still happy on how can I control who can call my son.

Mon fils de 6 ans utilise cette montre depuis quelques semaines, il a appris à l'utiliser très rapidement. Les options géolocalisation et le bouton SOS nous rassure beaucoup quand il part chez ses amis ou en balade ! Il peux nous appeler n'importe quand, nous pouvons lui laisser plus de liberté grâce à cette montre au poignée tout en étant vigilant à distance. Nous aimons aussi le fait d'être averti dès qu'il utilise la montre (quand il reçoit des appels ou des messages par exemple). Nous pouvons grâce à l'application bloquer des numéros, ou tout simplement bloquer la montre, par exemple pendant les heures d'école afin que notre fils ne puisses pas l'utiliser en cours.Nous validons complètement ! 😀 (tanaetcompagnie)

Abbiamo preso questo orologio per la nostra bambina di sei anni. Se ne è innamorata!L’orologio è molto intuitivo, riesce ad usarlo in autonomia.Ho apprezzato tanto la funzione del gps, tramite l’app riesco sempre a sapere dove si trova.Funziona con una qualsiasi sim, si può creare una lista di contatti a cui il bambino può avere accesso, ha la funzione delle sveglia, scatta fotografie, manda messaggi. L’ho trovato un ottimo prodotto e lo consiglio a chiunque vuole tardare un po’ l’acquisto di un cellulare. È un ottima alternativa che piace ai bimbi e fa stare tranquilli noi genitori.

Ha sido un acierto con mi hija, el diseño es muy bonito y cómodo de llevar.La bateria dura bastante y su carga es rapidísima.Mi hija disfruta haciendo fotos y videos con sus amigos y familia, la calidad de la cámara me sorprendió mucho para ser de un reloj.La precisión de ubicación es muy buena, genial para poder saber dónde se encuentra mi hija cuando lo necesite.El reloj funciona con nano SIM y me encanta que únicamente pueda hacer y recibir llamadas a los contactos que yo le gestiono en su lista.El sonido es muy muy bueno, hemos realizado muchas llamadas y todo genial! Y le puedes poner el volumen que prefieras.Tiene opción de meter música y escucharla como si de un móvil se tratase, y el audio es bueno.La verdad que es muy práctico y muy sencillo de usar por los niños.A mi hija le encanta y a mi me da mucha tranquilidad de poder estar en contacto cuando lo necesitemos y de saber donde se encuentra.Es muy completo, recomendable 100%.
