I can play with a dry reed and nobody will know!
I really like these synthetic reeds for practice and rehearsals because I don't have to spend time soaking a reed prior to practice, and I don't have to have several on hand in case one chips or cracks. However, they do have a unique tone to them due to the nature of the synthetic material. It's not an unpleasant tone, it is just a bit different than a cane reed. I still prefer to use a cane reed for live performances.

rightout of the box!
I've been waiting for Legere American Cut baritone sax reed for quite a while, and its finally here! I have Leger plastic reeds for my tenor and alto and never want to switch back to cane reeds for many reasons. First, the ree is reay to use right away-- no waiting for it to soak before it's pliable to use. Second, it's very durable . It's always the same and it wont get soggy and unplayable at exactly the wrong time, like the middle of a concert. Third, the cost is comparable to a box of quality cane reeds. When all the cane reeds are wimpy and need replacement , the Leger will still be consistent and will still be usable for a long time. There's always a mystique about everything saxophone, so I don't know how a professional musician would feel about the tone and response of the Legere compared to a cane reed. I'm just an amateur, but I've been playing for 60 years and don't think there is a difference except the reasons stated above.. Now I think I'm going to check if there's one for the clarinet.

Best price around and fast shipping
My son broke his synthetic reed and we needed one quickly. This was a great price and the fastest shipping. You can't go wrong with Legere reeds. They are the best.

Very good, but it only lasted about 1.5 months
I really like the sound and feel of this reed, but it has the same problem that previous legere reeds have had for me, which is that they can often develop micro-cracks or splits really quickly after just a few plays. Some seem to last a really long time 6-months to a year, so it feels like a roll of the dice each time. This one lasted me about a month and a half, so I did at least get some use out of it.

Love It!
I did a bit of research before making this purchase because it’s quite expensive for one reed. I’m really glad I decided to give it a try. I’m an adult beginner and this reed is so much easier to use than a cane reed. The only thing I don’t like about it is the case it came in. It just fits weird and could possibly cause damage to the reed. Maybe I’m missing something about how to put it in the case and remove it.

100% consistency with 98% sound of a cane reed
I'm 2.5 years into learning the alto sax, and I did not have the time or patience to deal with opening several packages of can reeds, trying to ReedGeek them, conditioning them, breaking them in, soaking for each play session, dealing with humidity changes, etc, or the wear/cracks/warping of cane reeds. I tried Legere American Cut and they give me consistency with about 98% the sound of my cane reeds (which is good enough for me). They come with a nice reusable case to protect the reed. When it's time to play, I pull it right out of the case (no soaking) and put it on my Jody Jazz HR* mouthpiece. I was using a 2.50 jazz reed before, and so I went with the Legere American cut 2.25 and the transition was seamless. I was worried they might feel plasticky and "sharp edged" but none of that happens. The sound is natural but still it's own personality. Perhaps the very thing that makes it consistent is what makes the sound feel free of "natural imperfections" that you might get out of a cane reed.If a professional recording/performance is what you're doing, cane is probably the right kind to use. For everything else, I'd prefer Legere American cuts for consistency while still maintaining a proper sound profile.

Seems to be a great reed
I play short sax solos during pop songs. While I prefer wood reeds in general, if it’s dry when solo time arrives, that.doesn’t work. I’m getting used to this one, and the company offers to help make it work for me. It was recommended by a friend.

Free blowing Reed
The media could not be loaded. I'm an adult/mature beginner and was managing with 1.5/2.0 cane reeds on my AS400 horn, but did spend a lot of time on reed-maintenance - including polishing the reeds with my home-made reedgeek type of tool. Then, the good reeds out of the box were short-lived as cane-reeds have a very short finite useful play-time.Was putting off purchasing the Légère synthetic reed because of the cost per, but finally bit the bullet and purchased a Signature-cut 2.0 strength after a lot of reading/research.My son - who was an intermediate Saxophonist in the school-band several years ago managed to use the Signature 2.0 but there was a bit of a struggle. As for me, although I could play a few tunes, I could not sustain the higher air-column/pressure needed to make this Sig 2.0 work. That's when I ordered this Légère American-cut 1.5. The difference is phenomenal! No more wasted time in maintaining the cane-reeds. Anytime and every time I pick up my Sax, this American-cut 1.5 does not let me down. It just plays and plays - as long I want to blow my horn.By far I found this Légère American-cut 1.5 to be good sounding overall - for easy articulation (and blowing) with mid, lower, and upper registers - without any issues. At this time I'm unable to speak about its durability and service-life. Time will tell.I'm no expert, but based on my own experience, I highly recommend this Légère American-cut reeds for all beginners.

Excelente producto.

Nice reed
These are responsive reeds. I use them on Vandoren T55 tenor and A45 alto mouthpieces. Legere reeds tend to harder than the equivalent cane reed.
