I wanted an iron that heated up quickly and had a small bit so I can make electronic circuits on Vero board without making a mess. This is a perfect iron for doing this. The iron also has an on/off switch, so you don't have to keep unplugging it when you walk away. The iron is overall a high quality. The bit holder does tend to unscrew itself over usage and you must keep tightening it back up. The mains cable is slightly stiff which can make it a problem keeping the iron still on the stand.This kit also includes a delightful selection of iron bits and a spare thin bit. The iron stand is basic but effective. It folds the iron nicely. The sponge that comes with the stand is minute and lasted me about 5 minutes. As the sponge is so small, it dries up quickly and crumbles up.The solder sucker is a standard unit that is highly effective. The solder that came with my case was not as pictured which was disappointing. The picture shows a substantial reel of solder. But I received a small tube. But at this price, can you really complain? But saying that, if you are purchasing something, you should be able to see what you are really purchasing.The other tools in the case are a good standard. The case itself is exceptionally light weight and is perfect to keep everything in. The only issue with the case is the zip disappears into the case when it is fully opened, and it is not easy to get hold of the zip to close the case.Overall, a decent quality iron and I would have paid the money for the iron alone. The extra tools are a bonus.

This is a very basic set but does all I want to fix the odd loose wire or solder a connector.I got it to mend my granddaughter’s favourite alarm clock. She’s happy it’s working, I’m happy the clock didn’t go to landfill prematurely and I’ve got an electric soldering set for future use into the bargain! So much easier and more accurate than the old one I had to heat up with a gas torch.I can imagine the new one with its temperature control settings could be used for so many little repair jobs and crafting activities.

I loved this iron. The temperature dial is accurate, the iron heats up quickly and the cable is flexible enough to not get in the way.Word of warning though; it will explode if you put the hot end down on the cable :) I'm not blaming the iron for that, I was the idiot who did that.
