Q: Can I use this for a 12 ounce throw weight with to launch a rope up a tree for tree cutting?

I shoot marbles using this. I do not feel you could use it for a 3/4 lb weight.

Q: Does it come with ammo?

It comes with a couple of dozen pellets. I us marbles; they are much better and cheap.

Q: How is the band be tapered? change the diameter along the tube? Any photos can see it is tapered?

How is the band be tapered...I have no idea what this means. The whole question means nothing to me !! One thing I can say is keep the elastic lubricated or it will crack and snap.
