Works great, prep is important
If your rub rail is stained or really oxidized, or you've done nothing to it for a few seasons, you'll need to prep with some sort of deep cleaner or solvent first (I used acetone). You can then apply this stuff, which goes easy and smoothly. Holds up well to normal cleansers, and I simply reapply without the serious prep a couple of times a season. Rails look new all year long.

Outstanding Product!!
My boat had a scuffed and faded black rub rail. I followed Kim's advice and used acetone on a quick clean, then applied. It looks brand new. I was debating on buying a new rail, not now. Great stuff, after the acetone wipe I let it dry and then applied and let it soak in before buffing off. I am very pleased, will use again.Thanks Kim for the Acetone advice!

Did just ok.
I applied several coats to my rub rails, and they did look a tiny bit better than before. They looked nothing like the images on the bottle. I ended up buying a different brand, and after one coat I could immediately see the difference. I may have left this bottle in my FILs garage; he can have it!

Makes your run rail look just like new!Easy to follow instructionsCouldn’t give it a full 5 star review since over a short amount of time you need to re apply it for the show room look. But a little goes a long way with this product

Works on plastic trim too
Provably the best black restoring product I have used, great for the rub rail but also used it for black plastic and trim.
