You need to add the mixture at different times thanks to the size difference of the different parts, otherwise your star will be more biscuit than cake. Also you also need to ensure you don't fill to the brim. Had to put a metal tray underneath to stabilise it to go in the oven. Was a bit difficult to get out of the mould. Baking with 3 eggs/ 200g gave enough mix for this and some cupcakes, we separated the mix and dyed the base red, the tree green and left the star the normal cake colour which looked good. A bit of icing sugar + water to stick together, and around the joins made it look like snow, used smarties to look like Xmas decorations.

I used it to bake the cake in the oven, but did it in 2 batches to try to prevent the smaller pieces from drying out before the larger pieces were cooked. As you can see the star was still a little over done, but that is a particularly tiny piece!I think it would be nice to have a version of this where they are split into 2 sets so you can just bake them for different amounts of time.

Received quickly, but I was expecting proper packaging with labels about what is a safe temperature to use this mould at, and to confirm it is made with with safe materials. It arrived folded in two plastic bags, which did not overly impress me. It shall get a good wash before use, but I am quite concerned over the safety of this product, as in description of product online it’s states it can be used in an oven, the mould seems quite thin to me and I am not convinced. The problem here is I have no way of knowing if this product is actually safe to use .... and I am not sure what I will do at the moment..
