But I have been told that Powertec is the new Rockler.I'm in the beginning phase of building a woodworking shop and plan to give less known brands a chance in my videos.

This is a nice sharp bit but for me it did not extract the chips much better than a regular straight bit. The chips were actually packed into the dado and had to be scraped out a screwdriver. A little disapointed.

I am very happy with this bit! I use it in a CNC router making wooden signs and I am very pleased with the quality and life span!

I know better than to buy cheap tools. I thought I'd sneak one in for a one-time-use on a special project. I was using this router bit to cut a round 3/4" oak game board. I was taking about 1/8' at a pass. The bit disintegrated on the second pass. You'd think at my age I wouldn't have to keep relearning this absolute law of woodworking. DON'T BUY CHEAP TOOLS! EVER!!! The joy of a bargain price fades long before the regret of a poor quality purchase.

i put the bit in a drill press for the project i was doing and with a speed of only 3000 rpms and it cut a perfectly clean groove, i couldn,t ask for better and for the price i got lucky. i have bin into custom wood working for over 45yrs and know what the difference between junk and the good stuff is, if it lasts awhile that would be a plus, if not i got my moneys worth already for the good job it did.
