Exploring Creation with Zoology 3: Land Animals of the Sixth Day (Young Explorer Series)

If you are looking for a series that will keep your kids love for learning alive look no further! Apologia's philosophy is that the sciences don't go deep enough, therefore learning and interest are sacraficed. I have to agree on both counts. We just purchased this book in July...school still 2 months off and my 10 year old has been excitedly telling me facts about horses from this book. She is not a science lover by any means, but this brings it alive for her. Projects also motivating and age appropriate for ages listed in the book. We had the same reaction from her last year with Zoology II. Notebooks that are also available are a great compliment and I would highly recommend them as almost necessary to help bring the info home for them.

The apologia science books are my favorite for home schooling. The elementary series gives the kids an in depth learning experience. The Land animals is the third in the series of biology/zoology. There are two main ways to teach a subject like science. The first way is often within a school setting. It is to give the students a little bit of every aspect of science every year adding to that knowledge year after year. This series uses the second method of delving into a subject deeply and thoroughly. I have chosen science curriculum that use the second method and my children know and love science to a greater degree then most students.Within the Land animals book this year we will be marking where the animals live on a world map, we will be learning and drawing their tracks we will be doing great science experiments that are easy and use readily available materials. We will also be keeping a science notebook. My kids beg me to do Science everyday.

BEST SCIENCE HOMESCHOOL BOOK AND COMPANY EVER!!!!! Fun, picturesque and perfect companion to the Audio CD which I import to my iphone and play outloud in any room in the house. LOVE it! Did I mention the Audio is superb and that the voice sounds like a Disney princess?

Was great for my kids ages 6-11 to use to study land animals. Activities to learn beyond the text included.

Packed full with information. Will be a great science curriculum for our family this fall. Great quality textbook. Awesome cover.Sadly, I was caught off guard by the quality of the pictures. They're blurry. Not crisp at all. Almost as thought the photos were a blown up copy of a picture. I was a tad disappointed about this. Hence, the missing star.

We love this book. My 3rd grader is using it for his science and we have really enjoyed the interesting animals and pictures. Plenty of great info and interesting to kiddos. Great book!

Very enjoyable approach to learning and good cadence of reminders of previous lessons (a key concept in learning at any age).Targeted for children up to 6th grade but anyone that likes to learn about animals will like this book.
