M.2 to USB Adapter, RIITOP M2 SSD to USB 3.0 Card Reader Compatible with Both NVMe (PCI-e) & B+M Key (SATA) SSD

I needed to upgrade my laptop as the M.2 that it came with was getting full. This made upgrading easy and worked without issue with b both Windows 10 and Linux.

I had a dead laptop with quite a bit of stuff on the SSD. I took the back off the laptop, took the SSD out, mounted it to this RIITOP, plugged it straight into a USB port my new laptop and copied the files.It was literally as simple as that. So now I have a spare 500GB SSD on a USB board to use as a back up. It worked perfectly.

With an ever increasing amount of solid storage drives rather than having to hot swap on a motherboard I bought one of these.Worked OK, I guess the limiting factor is the usb read/write speeds as the capacity of these drives keeps increasing. Time being a precious commodity this is the only real limiting factor.Comes with a machine screw to hold it to the device and a heat pad to dissipate any heat during operation.Quite useful to clone one drive via the USB port assuming you have the correct software.Build quality is good enough for occasional use but probably not extended or daily use.

Yes it’s an unprotected piece of PCB so wouldn’t plan to use it as a permanent solution, but working in IT surrounded by HP & Dell laptops all using an array of NVMe / PCIe drives, combined with a good LowLevel formatting tool such as HDD Guru’s LLF tool you would be amazed how many “faulty” drives you can easily resuscitate.It’s simple to connect any drive, plug & play, a solid 500ish mbps. My recommendation is to keep it stored in its original packaging and anti static bag, oh and no idea why they include the thermal tape for something clearly designed to be hotswappale, but oh well.

Great piece of kit.Needed to wipe some NVMe drives and can be useful for ad-hoc access to NVMe drives should a computer fail to recover data.The heat sink pad is re-usable as it’s not permanently stuck onto the pcb (usb) and or the drive once placed on which is great. Seems to help with heat dispersion, although please don’t use without placing the sticky pad on as it will get hot very quickly...Can get a little hot to touch once running but not too bad.Has a blue LED to indicate power and connection once plugged in. Blinks when you R/W like a normal LED usb.Please note although it’s USB 3.1, like any USB gen 2 device, if you use on any USB ports below this Gen (like usb 2.0 ports) then expect slower read / Write speeds as the computer will be a bottleneck for performance.Great product for the requirements I have and very portable. I brought a UGREEN case to carry it in for protection as it could be easy to break the PCB or damage any components on the board.I prefer this to lugging around a phone sized NVMe chassis.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do. I bought this as my M2 NVME drive stopped working. I wasn't sure if it was the motherboard, or the drive itself that were at fault, so bought this to test the drive. Its a nice bit of kit and looks to be well made using quality components. I bought this particular model as my M2 drive has a heat sink on it and this adapter was perfect for the job. The M2 slots onto it very easily and is screwed down at one end using the provided screw and driver. Happy to say it was my motherboard at fault and not the drive. Transfer rates seem really good too...

It works, but it's very flimsy and there is no outer casing to protect the ssd or the chip.

The title says it all! Even the screw driver is supplied!I used it under MacOS and Windows with M2 Sata and pci-e without issues.

L'ho acquistato per poter leggere un drive e secondo me il rapporto qualità/prezzo/utilità vale la spesa.

Ich benutze den Adapter mit einer WD 500 GB m2.0 SSD und es ist einfach traumhaft.Hatte vorher nur etwas ältere USB2 Sticks, aber wollte davon unbedingt weg und noch einen USB3 Stick kaufen lohnt sich nicht, dachte ich mir.Und dieser Adapter mit der SSD geht einfach BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.Der ist schneller als Lightning auf der Rennstrecke!Finde das teil super und kann es jedem ans Herz legen!Kostet mit SSD so 10-15€ mehr als ein guter USB3 Stick, aber man bekommt dafür so viel mehr Geschwindigkeit und Möglichkeiten.Könnte mir vorstellen das, als Plug-and-play Festplatte zu nutzen für z.b. ein portable Linux.
